1  Hand-painted custom Tees in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: July 30, 2007 02:15:37 AM
These are a couple shirts I made - bought the shirts from Michael's and painted free-hand with fabric paint. My boyfriend gets so many compliments on his when he wears it, I'm even starting to reproduce them and sell them :-) Tell me what you think.

2  Lolita self-portrait in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by forpersnluseonle on: August 08, 2006 11:54:07 PM
The inspiration for this painting was a pair of sunglasses. I bought these great heart-framed, mirrored sunglasses off the internet the other day...you know, the kind you used to wear when you were two. It strikes me as kind of pop-arty...what do you think?

oh, sorry if it's upside-down!

3  Betty & Veronica decoupaged wooden frame/mirror in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: August 08, 2006 11:50:22 PM
I love Betty & Veronica as a kid. Still do. The other day, I whipped out all my old comics and decoupaged this frame. First I painted the frame black, then mod-podged the cut-outs on and lastly GLITTER PAINT. I don't think I'm going to put a picture in it because the frame will completely take away from the picture inside so I'm going to glue a mirror inside instead :-)

4  Little Orphan Annie dress - red and hot and sex all over in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: August 08, 2006 11:43:10 PM
I woke up this morning feeling kind of sick so I stayed in my room all day with my sewing machine and all the great fabric I got at yardage town yesterday. I had no idea what I was making when I first started this project. The material is thin, red sweatshirt material so it's stretchy and really comfy to wear. Comfy and sexy?! Who woulda thunk?  Cheesy

5  Juicy & Delicious plastic grape cluster earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: August 08, 2006 11:34:09 PM
The title pretty much explains it all
They were super easy to make...literally, less than 2 minutes.
Cheap too...$1.50 for each of the clusters (I got them in the plastic fruit section at Michaels)...it's better than spending $18.00 on cherry earrings from fredflare.com!
They are a lot of fun to wear and I get a lot of compliments on them
The only bad thing about them is that they are a tad on the heavier side
Sigh. The hardships we fight through in the name of fashion.

6  Leopard-print Betsey Johnsonesque lingerie/bikini in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: April 09, 2006 10:05:59 PM

I know one of my breasts is hanging out the bottom....give me a break it was my first attempt
The material is spandex and it really didn't take that long to make (we're talking about 1/2 hour...I wore it to my friend's party that night and it held up pretty well in the jacuzzi as well...although the jets weren't on...at least it can get wet and still maintain its shape though). anyway, i just took a bikini that i already had (a basic string bikini top and tie-bottoms) and cut out slightly larger shapes. strung some hot pink ribbon through the bottom of the top (etcetera) and voila, an amazing amazon betsey johnsonesque lingerie bikini ! i think it turned out pretty well...what do you think?

7  Green T-shirt with a woven open back in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: December 18, 2005 10:26:11 PM
OK so a couple days ago I went to the art museum with my friend Lena and I decided I needed an article of clothing with some Andy Warhol flavor in it...so because I have ADD, I took the shirt that I made a couple weeks ago and did this to it:

Basically I just printed the images on iron transfer paper, ironed them on to an old white t-shirt I didn't want anymore and then sewed them onto the green shirt. Like it better or did I ruin it?

For Hannukah, my mom and dad got me a new sewing machine (because I have been using my mom's old sewing machine from 30 years ago). Anyway, I'm enamored of it. I'm still figuring out how to use it but this morning I made this with it:

It was really easy to make and I think I want to make it in other colors too using the same type of fabric. It's super stretchy and really comfy. I love it :-)

8  Tickle My Keys Sweater Vest and Matching Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by forpersnluseonle on: December 18, 2005 10:23:25 PM
I have been playing the piano for 13 years now. To exhibit my love for my favorite musical instrument, I created this sweater vest. I used black and white felt to make the piano on the front and on the back I cut out music notes from the vest and sewed fabric with music notes on it to the other side. I also made a matching shirt out of the same material. Tell me what you think :-)

9  Patch NYC replicated Bead Person in Beads: Completed Projects by forpersnluseonle on: December 16, 2005 11:50:58 PM
Yesterday, I received the new catalog for the awesome online store, fredflare.com. Flipping through the pages, I came across these adorable necklaces:

However, I was taken aback by the price: $136!!!
Problem: I really needed a necklace like this but I don't have spare cash like that to throw around.
Well, when I encounter a problem, I always think about
a) my materials at hand
and b) my capabilities
(just like that one time that the Gravy Train concert sold out so I meticulously copied the same hand-stamp they gave you upon entrance and got in)

I came up with this. Her name is Paulina.

I think she's just as cute as the ones in the magazine, if not cuter because she was made with love. I can't wait to wear her :-)

10  More Barbie shoe earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by forpersnluseonle on: December 16, 2005 11:37:01 PM
I was forced to stay home tonight because I'm still on restriction for breaking curfew by an hour and 34 minutes without checking in last weekend. So while my friends were out celebrating the first day of Xmas break, I did some heavy crafting, including these earrings:

At least I was kind of productive.
