11  Etched Presents in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by PaleAngelLex on: December 30, 2011 08:20:00 PM
I have always wanted to try glass etching. I thought that it would be a great Christmas gift this year. I put aside my fears of playing with acid and gave it a shot. I used Armour Etch, an x-acto knife, and some contact paper. Like always, I forgot to take in progress shots, but I did remember to take some pictures of the final products. I'm really happy with how they turned out. Up close you can see some fuzzy lines and rough cuts, but over all, they look pretty awesome.

From left to right, the symbol for Earth from Stargate, the Imperial symbol from Star Wars, and a Creeper face from MineCraft.

A set for my fried who just got a house and engaged, the Imperial symbol and the Rebel symbol from Star Wars.

Finally, Rarity's cutie mark. I couldn't seem to get a picture without glare on it. It was the second best glass I made. I was really happy whit how it turned out since it involved so much detail.

Thanks for looking. I also suggest you all try etching, as long as you remember to do it in a well ventilated room, with gloves and long sleeves. It does not feel nice when you get the cream on bare skin.

Here's my haul from ecopp!

Here are my wonderful new rope cuffs, sized perfectly to fit my boyfriend and his big wrists. They also came with a set of locks to make them work. I forgot to take a picture of them.

Some nifty pasties done in pink polka dots and camo. I've ver had a pair, and can't wait to try them out.

And, my favorite, this amazing paddle. She even put a super awesome octopus on it. I totally love it.

Time for some pictures of the awesome stuff that Leika sent me!

[

Lee tried one of the pairs of pants that Leika sent, and then went to go play in the leaves. Red plaid is most definitely her thing.

After she had her fun, she tried on the jeans and amazing sweater vest. The vest is beautifully knit.

This dress looks great on Sabine, and the knit capelet is also fantastic. I just love love it. The color just looks so nice with Sabine's skin color.

Grace gets to show off the cute pinstripe pants. The shirt is mine, please don't blame her for how it looks. It was a first attempt at something I was making for her. The pants fit great though.

Here are all my girls together. Lee's got the last pair of pants that Leika sent, and Sabine has the gorgeous shawl/scarf that Leika knit.

Thank you so much for everything. You've tripled my collection and my girl have some fantastic outfits now.

15  Pullip Dresses in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by PaleAngelLex on: November 01, 2011 06:47:49 PM
I decided that I wanted to make clothes for my dolls, so naturally I organized a swap:) I sent these outfits to my partner, who has received, so I felt like sharing.

I modified a barbie pattern I found to make this dress. I added some chain just for a nice detail.

This is a circle skirt with a tank top. There was some fraying on the top, but the skirt turned out really, really well. The fabric for the top actually has a vintage print of kittens and puppies on it. I thought it was kind of cute.

This might have been my favorite piece. I made the pattern myself using  trial and error and some extra fabric I had lying around. I love the pom poms on the bottom.

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

My SO and I finally got around to taking pictures of the awesome stuff that mom2em sent. Chad was very happy with everything, and he even took all the pictures himself. He made sure he was efficient with his picture taking as possible.

Front and center is this awesome cow pillow. Chad collects cows, and I kind of used to pieces the little pillow he had made. I promise, this one is just for him.

In this image you can see everything else. First there are some really nice wine glasses that mom2em painted with a creeper and some TNT to go with Chad's love of the game Minecraft. They even came with matching wine charms.. They are really nice globe red glasses that we really wanted. He's already claimed the creeper one. We plan on using them tonight Smiley

Next there are some scrabble tile magnets. One has a creeper on it and the other two have graph paper. Chad's a math major, so it's perfect. Awesome job mom2em for identifying creepers as the thing to do from Minecraft. I know it wasn't something that you were that familiar with.

Then there's the soap that she made. It's aloe based and smells like cappuccino. I think they smell wonderful. There was also a nifty comic book, but we forgot to take pictures. If I forgot anything, or you want to elaborate, please do mom2em.

Thanks for everything. I know you stepped outside of your comfort zone for us, and we're very appreciative!

WhiteSheep, that's a great Batman hoop you made!

After seeing all the fantastic embroidered hoops on here it makes me wish I knew how to do that instead of just cross stitch.

Just cross stitch?? Well you should take a look at this!

Here's my hoop from Megzy818! The shading on the skull is my favorite part. Did you find this pattern or make it? I really love it though. It's so old school tattoo and really beautiful. Thank you so much. I swear you make me the best hoops ever Smiley

Megzy818 asked me to post pictures for her.

This is based of a picture from Deviant Art (I know, bad me), but it's from the same person who did Megzy's avatar.

I tried to get it to look the original picture, where the hippo was a dark and only highlighted by the glow coming off of the wings. Making things glow with thread is not that easy for me. It actually looks better from a distance:) The grass took the longest. It's a mix of straight stitch, fern stitch, thorn stitch and tulip stitch. The last two are hard to spot. Then I through in some flowers for fun. The glowy bits floating around the hippo's wings were my favorite part. They are just french knots done in two strands with a different number of wraps around the needle for the size difference. I really love this piece even if it didn't really turn out like the picture.

Thanks to erica_tattoos for the help. Hope you like it Megzy.
