271  Re: Easy Peasy 2 Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by PixieVal on: June 26, 2009 04:13:55 PM
I recieved today from Schnerby! Yeah! So cute! She made felt footie magnets, which Lily-Anne loves! We've got a magnet board in the living room because she loves playing with the alphabet magnets, so now she's got some fun ones too!

The toes are so freakin sweet! She also sent a bunch of Chinese hard candy, but everytime I tried to take a picture of it, my camera malfunctioned! Sad But it did not malfunction in my tummy!
Thank you Schnerby!

(LOTS of pictures) Received from kitschkween today, and not only was the package amazing and perfect, but it was made all the better because this was the first swap I've received! Prepare to be jealous peoples, cause I got spoiled big time!
From my Etsy Favs Toast with Butter! (Sadly was stolen right after this picture was taken)

An awesome stenciled t-shirt with a spool of thread and a needle! Its perfect, and I love one of a kind clothes!

A necklace for my favorite Harry Potter House

So excited that I got this awesome pin cushion, it totally is my taste in design, and I'm just learning to sew so its perfect!

Now, check this out!

Look at all the supplies!! She is too good to me! I got stamps, hole punches, teal and black sequins, A pack of tacky glue, E6000(she says the best glue in the world, so Im excited to try it out), colored sharpies, 12 thread spools kit, bobbins, paper for my altered arts and scrapbooking, extra needles, and lots of cute fabrics to practice and learn with. These are my two favorites.

Now if only I could find my toast hmm.

Thank you so much! This was just like Christmas!!

273  Top Hat Hairclip in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by PixieVal on: June 23, 2009 06:17:45 AM
For the Quick and Easy Senders Choice swap, I made a couple of hairclips for kitschkween inspired by some of her Etsy favs. I was so afraid they were going to be a little over the top, and she wouldn't like them, but she wore the tophat to work last night! Here are some pics of the clips I made, and the action shots she posted.

274  Toddler Nap Pillow in Completed Projects by PixieVal on: June 21, 2009 04:01:59 PM
Okay, so this probably should go under some kind of category like "So Easy a Caveman Could Do It" but this is the first time I've used a sewing machine,  so I'm posting it!  Cheesy
We have hardwood floors and my daughter is always pulling blankets off the couch to lay on on the floor with when she feels like chilling out for a few minutes. So I thought I would like to make her a pillow for the floor.

All I used was 2 pillowsham cases, and 2 pillows. I had to sew one of the the cases so it was 3 inches thinner because the pillow was a little narrow, Thats where the flap came from. Then I just sewed the 2 pillow cases together, inserted pillows, tied the ends, and viola!
She was chilling out on it until I grabbed the camera, then she started dragging it all over the place!

yeah! My coozies! I was going for an Americana Patchwork look on these, and may add just a little bit more, but not really sure... I guess I'll be looking at them for another week or so, so they might look a little different when I send them. You may think the one without the ribbon was my last one, and I just got lazy, but honestly, that was my 2nd one. I was going to do 2 without ribbon, but I liked the ribbon with stars look better, so I may end up adding ribbon to that one before it ships.

277  Needlepoint Bead Embelishment in Needlework: Completed Projects by PixieVal on: June 10, 2009 12:28:43 PM
For the Easy Peasy Swap, my partner liked dark greens, and one of her favorite themes was leaves. I decided to try something I've never tried before!

I found some of this fabric, and stretched it over some canvas, and stitched over some of the veins with green floss, and other parts stitched on beads.

It looked so much cooler in my head, but I think I'm still pretty proud of it.

278  Decoupaged Children's Shelves (tons of pictures) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by PixieVal on: May 03, 2009 03:40:32 PM
I decoupaged shelves for my daughter's room. I wish I had taken pictures before they were done/hung up, but I forgot!
I collected a lot of children's picture books that had missing pages, or crayon markings in them, for free from yardsales/thrift stores/friends, cut out the cute pictures and modge podged them to these ugly unfinished/institution white/and old shelves I found most for a dollar or two. I also painted parts hot pink, or modge podged ribbons on them. All the pictures are from children's books, except for the ones of fairies, those were giant stickers from the dollar store, and by putting the modge on top, I'm pretty sure they're never going to fall off.

These Disney figures my mom actually made for me at a pottery studio when i was little!

279  Garbegg Can in CHALLENGE 38 ENTRIES by PixieVal on: May 02, 2009 08:05:15 PM

Had an unfinished wood garbage can for my daughter's room, that I finally got around to decorating. Spraypainted it purple, then started cutting and attaching eggs. I had a lot of fun doing this!

Originally I was going to make a mural with the eggs in the hallway, so all of my friends started buy up all the Easter Eggs they could find on clearance. I have over 1000 eggs now!!!

So I guess as soon as she gets bored of that.... I'll probably become known as the egg girl on craftster.
