1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Big Bang Theory Swap Round 3 Gallery on: March 27, 2011 12:32:57 PM
I received and here are finally some pictures of the lovely crafts!

First - my very own (embroidered!!!!) Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock t-shirt Cheesy (it fits perfect)

A friendship algorithm, so I'll never forget. I think perhaps this might have to go at my desk at work

A super cute Big Bang Theory Bag (complete with front pocket, back pocket, and australian flag!). On the back pocket is one of my favorite quotes from Sheldon about how engineers are the oompa loompas of science ^___^

And last but not least, an very kindly embroidered birthday card (my birthday was at the end of Feb):

Thanks Mod35tBabe! You were a great partner Cheesy

I have an interesting situation - I can send my package (to Australia) in one box/envelope for 60 bucks shipping - or, as the postal worker tells me, I can send the package in two separate envelopes (smaller width) for 11 bucks EACH totalling 22 dollars.

Doesn't that seem like a crazy price difference?

Would I be allowed to send two packages (at the same time) to save price?

Checking in! Finally finished my other swap and now full concentration on the reading swap! I have chosen a couple of books but I need to narrow it down - Partner, I'll be sending you some questions later today Smiley

I have several crafts in mind too and a really pretty yard of fabric I want to do something with, just not sure what yet.

I had been hoping to send out Friday - unfortunately life got in the way, but I'm hiding from the crazy rainstorm today, watching movies and putting the finishing touches on my package that'll go out Monday first thing!!

I'm very excited to receive, and I also can't wait for my partner to receive!

Checking in - I have most of the supplies I need already, but i'll have to hit up the bookstore for sure. I haven't started yet, I'm finishing up a Big Bang Theory swap this weekend, sending on Monday.

My boyfriend lost his job this thursday past due to a mass layoff at the plant he works at. Quite a shock to both of us, but we're trying to make the best of things. So this swap presents an interesting challenge - Sending internationally and being very thrifty about it!

Any ideas? Obviously - used books being the big one. Maybe I can find some light weight ones that fit the bill too? Smiley

I get mine at a place called the Stamp Shack - they have lots of colors and patterns and varying thicknesses. I'm not sure if you'd have one of em where you are... but possibly another stamp related store would be a good place to look?
