1  Second corset! Black taffeta + front zipper. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainbow_vomit on: March 07, 2010 05:57:50 PM
hello craftster. :3 Miraculously, my second corset turned out 1000x better than the first one (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=339578.msg3933247#msg3933247)

it's more a fashion corset since i used cheapo plastic boning and only used two layers of fabric. but at least it FITS. *happy* I really didn't do much different this time, except I sewed the seam over the bust almost complete straight.

It's a tad crooked and wrinkly on the dressform, but it looks fine on me.

in progress Cheesy

2  my first corset! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainbow_vomit on: February 26, 2010 09:33:45 PM
whoa i haven't posted here in a looooooong time. but i thought i'd post my newest project to get some critique. this is my first corset i've ever made (and only the second time doing boning), and it turned out alright, except for some major fit problems in the *cough* chest area. if anyone has any tips for making corsets for flat-chested ladies, please tell. or a good pattern would be nice too! I used simplicity 2966 (i think) for this. also the fabric is very weird, so that didn't help me any. it's like, acetate or something.  Undecided it also changes colors so it was about impossible to match thread to. D:

also excuse the slightly blurry pictures.

(you can really tell how bad the fit is in this one D: although it looks better on me, it still fits awful)

(i'll be getting better cord for this, this is all i had on hand to use.)

3  apple print thermal t-shirt~ in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainbow_vomit on: February 18, 2009 09:00:49 PM
Okay, my aunt bought me this apple fabric, but I never got around to doing anything with it till today. I'm sure you've all seen this print at Joanns before... I absolutely love it. only thing is you might notice I messed up and have the pattern upside-down... but you can't really tell.

4  shiny silver stripey long sleeve shirt~ in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainbow_vomit on: February 14, 2009 04:28:48 PM
I found this awesome fabric at hobby lobby for 2 dollars a yard, I just had to make something out of it! I've got tons left too. o_o; only thing I don't like about it is it's EFFING ITCHY. D:

as you can tell I haven't finished the sleeves yet. I got lazy and didn't feel like adding the band of fabric to the ends of the sleeves yet xD;

this is to show how shiny the fabric really is.

the neck! i've been dying to do a slouchy neck like this~

the back. I originally planned this to have a sort of diagonal double line of eyelets to lace up for detail, but every time the fabric stretched the eyelet popped out. SO needless to say I had a hole to cover up! so I reverse-appliqued that onto the back. xD;

detail of the heart cause you can't really see it on the last picture.

but anyway does anyone have any tips for putting eyelets in stretchy fabric if it's even possible?

5  lots of vests with lace-up goodness! <3 -picture crazy- in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rainbow_vomit on: February 13, 2009 06:35:09 PM
ahh, now that I can post pictures I can finally show off my things I've made recently. :3

Grey vest! It has a simple tie in the back. I absolutely adore the buttons, I believe they are vintage too.

my. favorite. vest. EVER! it looks like crap on the inside, but I don't care! :3

I don't like this one as much to wear since I'm not crazy about denim, but I do love the way it looks. :3 buttons are also vintage on this one.

this is a very bad picture of the suit jacket I made... jeeze, I put fifteen+ hours into that thing. D: never doing that again...

I believe that's everything! you guys will be seeing more of me too, I've recently found a lot of knit fabric that is totally cool. and if you haven't noticed, I love making things lace up. Cheesy
