4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Child apron on: July 12, 2009 01:21:20 AM
Hi everyone this is my second post now its so exciting I cant wait to finish my projects so that I can post them on here..............well I got a new sewing machine so I been finding a reason to sew I have also seen some really cool aprons and I figured it would be a fairly easy project.......well I have to say it was once I got used to sewing again

I searched the web for some child patterns and I came across this one the best one I have seen yet http://sillypiggymonkey.blogspot.com/2008/03/childs-apron-tutorial.html

Well here are the pictures

My daughter in her new apron

Playing in her kitchen frying a banana

Looking crazy you can see its kinda long on her but something for her to grow into

Showing off her banana

The apron, I used velcor since she doesnt know how to tie things yet

Well I hope everyone likes it I am very proud of it my husband says it looks like an incomplete dress I think I will add pockets to it later she wanted to wear it before I was even finish sewing it so I just let her have at it

Comments and criticism tell me maybe something I could do different
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Cool Canopy on: July 08, 2009 01:40:25 AM
Hello, this is my very first post although this is not my very own idea I fell inlove with it when I seen it in my FamilyFun magazine here is a link if you would also like to make on for your child http://jas.familyfun.go.com/crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=12189

I have always loved the canopy style and now that I have a daughter I want her to feel like a princess so I headed to the craft store and bought all my supplies (being overseas in Germany its pretty hard to find everything you need)

Here are the pictures

This is the canopy

My daughter in the canopy and took her baby and spongebob in there (sorry her hair looks crazy I put the canopy up while she was sleeping)

I also wanted to make a really big pillow for her so she could also nap in the canopy
This is the cotton side

This is the fleece side

I have not sewed in almost 3 years so I was pretty proud of myself when I made the big pillow even though it looks like a funny circle hehehe

I did this whole project while my daughter was sleeping 2 hours set it up and everything its very easy and I really enjoyed making it but most of all I loved seeing her face when she was in there
