1  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: Pollini Dress Sewalong? on: February 18, 2009 02:34:16 PM
That's a beautiful dress, I have a couple of types of different fabrics in mind, do you think it would work with jersey?

I plan on doing it in this t-shirt/jersey material. I don't know if it will work - but, I'm going to try it. I figure, with the jersey, the sizing will be much more forgiving if I alter it incorrectly (very probable for me, lol).

I'm actually thinking of lengthening the dress. I want something in that style, but a long one. And with a light jersey material, it would still be cool enough to wear where I live.

I actually have the perfect fabric in my stash for this dress. I've been meaning to make one, but haven't found the motivation. Maybe this thread will motivate me!

I am smaller than the pattern size, and unless I'm drafting my own pattern, totally inept at altering someone else's pattern. So, this should be an ... interesting learning experience for me.

Wow! This is incredible, fantastic, and stunning. Your stitching is amazing. Honestly, your pillow looks better than the other two on the couch.

What an amazing gift!

This is awesome. I wish I had thought of that when living in a small apartment with a big cat, lol. I'm ashamed to say, I just put the box underneath my bathroom sink (no cabinet was there either), and hoped no one would notice. Kind of gross, now that I think about it, lol.

This is a fantastic idea. I love it. It rocks!

I love the birdie one. And the one with the hanging hearts.

Thanks. Smiley

I saw this one on that website (whose name I know forgot) that sells those inspiration images. Except they're de-inspiration. You know, like the photos of a mountain climber, with the words "Courage" and then a short quote on it.

Anyway, this one has a rose as the photo. The words in big letters were "DESTINY" and then in smaller print "You were meant for me." And then in yet smaller print "Perhaps as punishment."

I love that one, and it's so apt for Valentine's. I'm going to use it as my card for my boyfriend - we have that weird sense of humor.

I also like the images of cupid, dead on the ground, shot with one of his arrows. I think the image would look great on the front of the card, and then inside could just be a simple "Happy Valentine's Day."

I just realized both my ideas are sort of anit-Valentine.

This is fantastic. I'd hang it in my bedroom, for sure.
