1  Re: Making Hula Hoops, anyone? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by urbazewski on: November 27, 2009 08:53:04 PM
I'm doing make-your-own-hoop kits for my first craft fair, next weekend.  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=328235.0 These are the samples I've been working on, and the looked so nice in the afternoon light I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

4  Barbie's Fabulous Fountain of Blood in Halloween Decor and Parties by urbazewski on: October 26, 2009 09:44:32 PM
I found this "activity kit" for $3 at St. Vinnie's Thrift Store. The "activity" consisted of sticking plastic things in pre-existing holes then sticking more plastic things in this weird putty. Pathetic. But with a little leftover black paint, some red food coloring, and whatever scary stuff we could scrounge, sticks, leaves, rubber insects, and a real skull, we made it truly fabulous. Happy Halloween Barbie!

5  A Valentine's Kaleidocycle! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by urbazewski on: February 10, 2009 11:39:58 PM

Make a fun 3D paper sculpture that rotates endlessly to display your photos!

Start with four of your own photos or combine them with some of our cute valentine messages... These are my friends Orelia and Carey, who agreed to be the Valentine's Day Kaleidocycle Spokesmodels for 2009.

We slice, dice and stretch your photos --- you download this as a .jpg file. Print, score, cut, fold and glue. We have complete directions in slideshow format at http://foldplay.com/kaleidocycle.action I'm interested to know how clear they are. I'm happy to answer questions or trouble shoot. I like to use a light cardstock, but regular paper will do. It just won't be as sturdy.

The kaleidocycle rotates endlessly, so your sweetheart keeps coming around again and again. The motion is really addictive.

A kaleidocycle is much cooler than a store-bought card (not that you were planning on buying a card anyway, but you know what I mean!).
