Except I would want ALL the colors, like the 100+ count box. Cheesy
Soooo adorable.

very cute. I really like the multi-colored ones.

I really want to try this. I'll need to pick up some cool charms and stuff too.

85  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Hats! (Img heavy) on: April 19, 2009 06:22:44 PM
I just finished a few new hats, and I really like how they turned out :3

The main pattern for these I used is the ever popular slouchy hat, found here:
http://jessicasuzanne.com/craftypants/2007/09/13/pretty-puffs-slouchy-hat-with-pattern/

On the blue one I followed the pattern exactly, but I switched to different hooks as I worked.
(N/9.00mm row 1-8, K/6.50mm rows 9-15, and a G/4.2mm for the rest.)

I put an old clip-on earring in the side for a charm. It has a ship on it Cheesy

The yellow one is the same as above, I just stopped after second row of puffs. I sewed some buttons on the brim.
I look a li'l rough in these pictures. Tongue

The red hat is so far my favorite. Also like above- switched hooks, using an even smaller one for the last rows. (F/3.7mm?)
I threaded some green yarn in and out of the brim 'cause I was dying to use those colors together.

Tell me what ya think Cheesy

Had to add my pokemon hoodie shot xD

87  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Advice? on: April 14, 2009 11:57:19 AM

So, how about things that you'd like to have, esp things that are new fashion this year as those are usually cost more to buy already made, and things that will allow you to learn a new skill.  I have no idea whether you'd like any of these, but they're easy to make and you can learn trimming, zips, snaps, buttonholes, piping, binding, serging, and just getting comfy with your new machines from making them: beach bag, sun hat, roll-up beach mat, decorated flip flops, wrap around for coming out of the shower, headband, sundress, rain poncho that folds up into a little bag, green totes for groceries, pillows for your bed, backpack when you get more experience, whatever YOU really like.

Thaaaanks for the great ideas! I've really been wanting to make a sun dress. I got a few patterns from Walmart and have been looking them up online. (I'm a better artist than seamstress so drawing patterns isn't too hard Grin)

And the teddy bears I make aren't too hard. Just two front pieces and a back piece, I learned this pattern a looongg time ago. Tongue

I love the last owl. The setting it's in is awesome. Any idea where I might find one? ;]

90  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Advice? - Looking for beginner projects on: April 12, 2009 07:38:53 PM
Recently I really hit the jack-pot. I mentioned to my dad a few days ago I would like to get a sewing machine and he said he would look into it. I wasn't expecting much, my granmother was going to give me one of hers to borrow: but fate stepped in and he met somebody who just had one sitting around and gave it to him.

So I now own my own Brother sewing machine, serger, a whole (big) box of fabric, and another (big) box of various things (zippers, Velcro, doll hair (yes doll hair, lol), etc), and a whole lot of cute buttons and thread. :] *eeek*

I'm naturally pretty creative and I've had sewing classes before, so I'm not a complete novice and I reallllly need practice.

Any suggestions on what would be good beginner projects? I already made a stuffed bear. He is kinda ugly, but I love him. I call him Chubby Nubby XD

Help and advice would be much appreciated. :]
