1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / first go at painting on: August 07, 2009 09:45:02 PM
this is painted over an old canvas that my mom was going to throw away.  i desperately needed something to put in my new apartment but was working with a budget and wanted something to match my colors! I thought a peacock feather would be fun and appropriate Smiley

so i went to hobby lobby and grabbed 7 bottles of acrylic paint and went at it!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / First Post Ever! Matching DZ bed spreads! on: January 29, 2009 03:31:50 PM
I am in Delta Zeta and NCSU and this year I am living in our sorority house.  My roommate and I knew that we wanted our bedspreads to match and that we wanted them to be pink and green (DZ's colors) but we couldn't find ANYTHING we liked so I decided to make them.  I love large patchwork and I had all these beautiful pink and green fabrics so I made both bedspreads using as many different fabrics as possible.  Both have the same fabrics but the layouts are different.  I also made the shams and had them monogrammed!  I hope ya'll enjoy!

View from the door (it is a VERY small room)

My Bed!

I also made the DZ letters and french memo board above my bed!

3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Published in SNB on: January 29, 2009 03:12:54 PM
Haha sooo I know this is random!

If anyone has SNB Son of a Stitch and Bitch and looks on page 7 (I think) and see's the reader's story about a girl that will only knit for her daddy after a devastating breakup and a scarf, that was me!  Haha it was about 4 years ago, I was playing on the internet and saw where you could submit a story.

I was bored and typed that in about 20 seconds.  I NEVER expected it to end up in the book!  Imagine my surprise when a girl from my high school who now goes to college in colorado told me that her roommate saw the and asked if she knew me because we were both from the same town!  My mom went and bought 4 copies to give to relatives (who don't even knit by the way).

Just thought I'd share my misadventures in knitting non-fiction Smiley
