That is amazing. I'm the same sort as your son (creative and relentless) and only wish my parents were half as supportive when I wanted to try something new. Big Up!!

Looking at the mess of pins on my table, I think I need one of these too! Let's hope I can come up with something half as imaginative.

I used to work with a guy that used paper to make boxes and baskets in his spare time. I love the idea of turning what would otherwise be waste in to something useful. Great work!

Awesome job!  Grin These are the kind of strange creatures I'd like to make. Any tips on creating the patterns?

Good job!!!
I took a look at the book, and I want to make that penguin! I found a book on how to design stuffed animals on amazon too! I just ordered it.

This is the first stuffed animal I've ever made. I hand stitched it all because working with fur on a sewing machine made me want to break something. He's got weighted feet, 5 doll joints and little bells in his paws. I got the pattern from the freebies section of http://www.bearycheap.com/. I think I'd like to try my hand at designing one that's a bit more grotesque like the ones found at http://www.patriciawaller.com/en/images.html .  Does anyone have any advice for a novice? I was thinking about using Blender (http://www.blender.org/) and then unfolding the surfaces to create a pattern.
Thanks,
Jean-Paul
