2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My NEW Victorian inspired Ensemble! "Le Chocolat" on: November 26, 2010 02:13:33 PM
This is my new Victorian inspired ensemble to wear to the 2011 Steampunks World Fair, and wherever I wish Smiley.  I drafted the pattern for the fishtail skirt and bolero jacket myself Smiley  The skirt is surprisingly easy to make, but I had to take it in about 3 times since 1)my dress dummy is broken and has no hips lol and 2)I had no one to help me mark the dress while it was on.

I am VERY proud on how this turned out! <3

my favorite part is the back! I love my bow and ruffles

thanks again everybody.

I still have to take it in, and steam it to get the wrinkles out. I am hoping to wear it somewhere nice for my husbands birthday, or a holiday party!

thank you all!  I do need to make a petticoat, so I'm about to search to see if there are any tutorials.  And if I can find the right chiffon and have the patience to do all this gathering!

Hello all! It has been quite a while since I posted, but I have been busy with sewing.  Halloween is over, and I had costumes out the wazoo!  Anywho, I wanted to post my dress that I finished today to commemorate my 110 lb weight loss over the past year.  I am so in love with this dress, and the best part, it is still a bit big! I have to take it in a bit more.  So here it is Smiley  (forgive the messy living room)

I am SO in love with how my ruffled collar turned out.

The dress is made from plum colored taffeta, from 800fabricsclub.com Smiley Hope you like!
