the second is a patch I made for my best friend on his birthday. the creatures on it are Mr. Saturns from the computer game Earthbound, one of his favourites. the white lines are just chalk; they were there so I knew how big to draw the patch and got erased later, when I folded the edges under.
the third is a little patch I made for my boyfriend's guitar case.
A while ago I got to stay in a friend's trailer and he told me to do whatever I want with it, so I drew on the walls. I was going to colour the drawings, too, but I didn't get around to it, and the following year the trailer ended up being used for storage.
I made this skirt the year before last. Silk is a pain to sew, as I've discovered. It was also my first time doing darts-- I had spent hours sewing the skirt, only to discover it was slightly too big. Solution? Darts! though you can't see them in the pics, as they're in the back.
Sorry for the mess in the background! Hope you like it.
I wanted to see if I could still remember how to make a Coptic stitch notebook, and this is what turned out! I obviously need a little practice, but not bad for the first time in about 8 years, I think. I drew the lady with pens and markers, and the border is done with fabric markers.
My boyfriend plays music and sings and when he was putting out his CDs he asked me if I'd want to do the artwork for them. Which is awesome. Except after I drew the first picture, I put off the rest until last minute, which of course caused much panic and probably not the best artwork. But he said he loved it, so yay!
And this is a poster I made for him last winter, it took a while.
I drew this to trade a friend for her knitting me some arm warmers. I feel like I got the better side of the deal -- it wasn't until I was halfway through colouring this that I thought, "oh yeah, colour isn't really my forte." Damn. Oh well, she seemed to like it.
Here are two patches I made with fabric markers -- one is for a friend who likes Siouxie Sioux and whales and the second is for my boyfriend, who hopes one day to possess an army of pugs and call them all Banjo. Both pretty silly.
I sewed this purse for my friend's birthday; I drew the patch with fabric markers. the colour layering was fun -- there are no peach coloured fabric markers (as far as I have seen) so I have to do a layer of red and brown and then white over that.
Hand-sewn because I'm afraid of sewing machines and I don't have electricity anyway.
