31  Flowers in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by IndigoCharm on: March 21, 2009 01:59:36 AM
This is a very small and simple oil painting I did a while ago -- I based it off a picture I saw in a magazine (which I tore out and stole), as I thought it was very beautiful, and it made great practice.

32  Plyushki - Russian pastries in Dessert by IndigoCharm on: March 21, 2009 01:52:46 AM
These are plyushki, though my grandmother calls them zhavoronki (in Russian, that's the name of a bird -- I think it's "lark" in English). I have made these only a couple of times because it takes so long -- 2 hours or so for the dough to rise and probably another 3 hours to cut and shape the pastries. But the result is very satisfying.  Grin

33  Flower ashtray in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by IndigoCharm on: March 21, 2009 01:44:20 AM
I know this is pretty weak compared to all the other creations here, but this is my first (and only, so far) pottery project -- a flower ashtray/incense holder:

Thanks for looking. Smiley

34  Re: Unused headboard and footboard in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by IndigoCharm on: March 18, 2009 06:17:57 PM
That might work with the headboard, though I'd have to saw some parts off...

Here's the headboard:

And here is the footboard:

Sorry for the crap in the back of the second one. >< Our living room is being used as a storage space by my boyfriend's aunt.

35  Repaired first aid kit in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by IndigoCharm on: March 17, 2009 07:07:11 PM
One day, a dirty, rusty first aid kit appeared out of nowhere in my boyfriend's car -- and I decided to make it look less ugly.

Here is the before:

I sanded most of the rust off and spray painted it black on the outside and pale green on the inside. Then I drew out the words and picture I wanted on some cardboard, cut them out, and used it to spray paint the top (unfortunately, some of the spray paint leaked under the cardboard so some of the letters are a tad bit shapeless, but meh)--

--and filled it up with the stuff that was in there before and some of my own:

Hope you like it. : )

I made these some months ago, from cardboard and wrapping paper.

This is my first one:

And this is my second one, after I taught myself the coptic stitch.

I hope you like them. Smiley

37  Reconstructed chairs in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by IndigoCharm on: January 27, 2009 08:18:46 PM
Hi, this is my first time posting. I recently discovered how to re-upholster chairs and decided to do it to some ugly chairs my boyfriend's relatives gave us.

This is before:

(and)

And this is after:

It was my first time doing it, but I hope you like it. Smiley
