1  Re: Dragon Age Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Innaura on: April 15, 2012 10:47:11 PM
I received!  (I had some problems with my camera so I'm sorry for the posting delay.)

First, I always loved the line about Anders' mage socks being left all over my bedroom.  Of course, I teased him about it, so now he got me back:

Mage socks of my very own!  The note said, "I know it drives you crazy when I leave my mage socks around because you say you never do, which is true but I maintain it's because you just don't have a pair of your own mage socks.  So now you do and we'll see where you leave them, my love."  I tried to get an action shot but it's really hard to get a good picture of your own foot!  They're so awesome and glitzy and I love them.  The decoration is on the front, too, which is cool.  Smiley

Then, Wynne sent me three gorgeous amulets:

From left to right, amulets: 1) to increase magical ability, 2) to increase vitality, and 3) to increase creativity.  I love them so much!  The picture doesn't do their detail justice.

And Leliana made a gorgeous brocade dice bag for my partner:

The edging is gorgeously hand-stitched.  I think you can either tie one end and make it a long tube of dice, or put dice in each side and then tie both ends together at the top to make a kind of folded pouch.  It's very Orlesian!

And because send-outs were on my birthday, she sent along a gorgeous extra of a pair of earrings and a hairpin:

I love the styling and the earthy colors!  And for a bonus there were some chocolates with pictures of Australian animals!  Mmmm, delicious.

Thank you so much, special_occasion!  I love everything and this was such a fun swap!

Miss Barbara, I'm just so glad you like everything!  I adore making jewelry and working in all ORANGE was so much fun!  What a great color it is, it makes me happy.

I have the pics of what I made!

Here are the three bracelets: the wrap bracelet on top, with the big chunky orange beads, to the left is the double seed bead chain with the four Pandora style beads, and to the right across the bottom is the orange freshwater pearl bracelet (that seriously reminds me of creamsicles!):

Here is the necklace, I'm so sad the wire didn't work-harden as much as I wanted!  But I like the rest of it, and the silver charms on it were right off of Miss Barbara's wist!  I noticed them right away and thought, hey, I have those!  It is orange "sea glass"-- not actually worn by the sea, but it's the same effect-- and when I saw the little orange owl I was so happy, because Miss Barbara said she likes owls:

The best TOL I ever made!  I only wish I had clearer pictures.  I put a tiny knot in the tree trunk and it's so cute!

So glad you like it, Miss Barbara!   Cheesy

Hooray, I got pictures!  Look at the awesome greenness of what Miss Barbara made for me!  I'm sorry the pictures are still a little blurry.  But hey, I cleaned of my desk at work just to take them!

First there was a beautiful, snuggly-soft lap blanket, embroidered with vines and leaves!  It's the perfect weight for this warmer weather we've been having.

Then there was a really awesome box, decoupaged with Chinese newspapers (I told her that I love Chinese characters, I think they are so beautiful), glazed in green!  And you can just barely make out the inside color-- it's bright green on the bottom and dark green on top!

Then, a super bright happy cowl (did I say I was wanting a cowl, or did you read my mind? because I wear scarves all the time but I was thinking how nice a cowl would be for really windy days!) with a giant green button and a really cute crocheted heart pin with a sparkly silver heart button in the middle!

I mentioned that I would like to have a laurel wreath to wear in my hair, and Miss Barbara did one better-- a super comfy headband that she decorated with leaves!  So now I can wear this all over without getting the goofy looks that a full-on wreath would have brought me.  Smiley

Thank you, Miss Barbara!  I love everything.

jennieingram sent me the prettiest extra!  I finally got pictures of it, but hers are better: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=383882.0

It's one of her amazing loaded charm bracelets, fit for the Queen of Space, and a pair of matching earrings!  There are stars, moons, suns, a key, a dragon (I sent her a story I wrote about a dragon and a princess), the goddess of the dawn, castle, and crown!  Its fancy sparkliness and whimsy complements the austere tall crown so nicely!  It makes the most lovely noise when my arm moves.  Thanks, jennieingram!  It's so pretty and fun to wear.

I got my crown yesterday from jennieingram!  Check out this masterpiece fit for the Queen of Space (oh yes, both meanings apply to me), and sorry for the blurry pics, I'm still stuck with the camera on my phone:

It looks like lace, stiffened beautifully, all black, with blue, iridescent, and clear sparklies lined up around it in the lace pattern!  jennieingram is amazing, the join is all but invisible and the lace looks like it just flows around the whole crown!  And here's a (fuzzy) closeup of the front medallion:

jennieingram says that it is the Goddess of the Dawn, and she will help me reign wisely!  She has beautiful wings and floats gracefully in front of her loyal stallions.

I don't have any action shots, but it stands up straight and proud on my head, and makes me feel like a Russian Tsarina as well as the Queen of Space!  It fits beautifully and is very comfortable too.

Thank you, jennieingram!  I loved swapping with you and my crown is beautiful.

Also thanks to everyone who complimented my handiwork!  This gallery is full of gorgeous crowns, every one of them so pretty!

6  Re: Mass Effect Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Innaura on: April 21, 2011 05:33:27 PM
I received!  Hollistercobabe made me a fabulous package!  (I'm so sorry the pictures are so fuzzy.  They don't do these items justice!  My camera died and I had to use my phone.)

First, this is what I saw when I opened the mailbox:

You should have seen my face!  Every side (except the bottom) had a Cerberus logo.  I was kind of scared, because you never know with Cerberus...

I didn't need to be though!  Because my favorite character, Thane, was right there with me:

There's a Thane necklace and matching earrings (and they're symmetrical!  I can have him facing me from both sides!) and the coolest Siha keychain.  You can't see it so well here, but the red writing on top is partly transparent and says "Siha" in a pretty font.  Then underneath is the definition: "One of the warrior-angels of the goddess Arashu.  Fierce in wrath.  A tenacious protector."  That is so going on my work keys.

Then the whole squad joined in!  Well, all my favorites anyway:

Left to right, there's Legion, Joker, Liara, Thane, Tali, Garrus, and Mordin.  I think when the questionnaire asked for your favorite character, I put all of them!  Is this resin?  It feels so smooth.

Now that I've got my shipmates, what else do I need?  A gorgeous N7 t-shirt!

The logo is really shiny, I love it.  And it's so perfectly distressed-looking!  Plus, who told you I love to wear brown?    Cheesy

You can't always be with the one you love.  But you can always light some candles and think of them:

Thane tealight/votive holders!  I got a pair of these, there is so much more detail than the picture shows.  They're beautiful!  (It's awesome, we both sent each other N7 shirts and etched glassware!)

But, you know, as much as I love Thane, my heart is torn... so if I feel like thinking of someone else:

This is such an awesome picture of Liara!  It's made up of strips of other pictures-- sky? or from the ME games?  I can't tell.-- and then the white part is an overlay!  It's so beautiful, the lines are really striking.

Plus a Mass Effect 2 awareness-style bracelet:

All my goodies together!  (Liara is, apparently, camera-shy.  I got the earlier pic okay, but then she caught on and hid from the lens.)

Thank you, Hollistercobabe!  I love it, it's fantastic.

7  Re: Key Themed Swap Gallery (Send outs 12/8) in The Swap Gallery by Innaura on: December 13, 2010 03:07:28 PM
I'm sorry this has taken so long!  I finally have pics of what noxluff sent me, and partner, if you have better pics you can post them!  All I had working was my cell phone camera.

First the group shot!

I cannot believe how much you packed into that little box!

My big items were the shirt, here's a fuzzy closeup, it looks so much better in person:

The pocket is sparkly!  But of course it got frigidly cold here so I haven't worn it yet.  She used bleach, and I think it looks great.  The gradient effect in the picture is real, not just a trick of the light.  It's almost like the key is glowing!

Then the little picture for my desk, which is really boring because the job is only a couple months old:

It's on star paper!  And it's the same key image she used throughout, and I really like it.  It reminds me of the moon, with the crescents on the side.

Then, I hate to choose sides, but this is my favorite.  I pulled out this book and thought, awesome!  I love books, maybe it's blank and I can write all my secrets in it!

But then I absentmindedly opened it up, as I am wont to do with books of any stripe, and look what page it fell open to!

The hot chocolate page!  She made me a secret hiding book!  It is so awesome, I just love it.

Plus the little extras, some of which I missed until I took the pictures!  (They were hidden in the packing material.)  Some candy, also for my desk, and two cute ornaments, a big candy cane and a sparkly gold key!  Plus a little Santa bag and a lovely card.

Thank you, noxluff!  This was a great swap!

8  Re: Super Awesome Sailor Moon Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Innaura on: October 24, 2010 02:56:31 PM
I must apologize to everyone.  I've had minathia's package for almost two weeks now, and... I haven't posted pictures!  Just a ton of little things kept getting in the way...

So here we go, I made up for it with lots of pictures.

I asked for a bag for my netbook.  It's only a 12-inch one (I like it that small, I was very tempted by the 9-inch one) and the bag I was using was much too big.  Look at this!

Sailor Mercury is my favorite!  Look at the writing on the outside:

She got it right from the book that I linked her to!  It reads Mizuno Ami and it's Mercury's regular name in Japanese.

This is a detail from the inside.  There are so many pockets!  You can't really see it well, but there's a tiny crescent moon among those stars on that heart zipper pull!

She also carved me this:

A stamp with the symbol for Mercury on it!  It is so awesome.  I love how it looks, and I can see myself stamping a whole lot of things!

Then there were the extras, which came in this bag (horrible color in this photo):

Here they are:

The pink button embroidered with a cat is a mirror!  I have been needing one of those.  Then there's a button that says, Name your own destiny.  Blue nail polish so I can pretend I've transformed into Mercury, a little blue heart pendant, and some delicious candy!  I've eaten some...

She also sent a really cute note, written by Sailor Venus for Sailor Mercury!  It's adorable.

Thanks, minathia!  I love everything.

9  Re: Multi-Themed Steampunk Swap Gallery (Send outs 8/16) in The Swap Gallery by Innaura on: August 31, 2010 10:46:35 PM
Well, last I'd heard, ladylove's package had safely arrived at her sister's house, but then I haven't heard anything else.  Alchamy asked me to post pics of what I made.  I made four things, but only have pics of two of them.  Sad

First, right off her questionnaire, I smashed together a whole ton of things she likes-- the color brown, paisley, corduroy, feathers, circus steampunk, and her special wish for a cape with a hood.

Behold, the steampunk ringmaster's cape!

The picture doesn't really do it justice... the colors are so vibrant in person.  That's the purple and brown I was asking about!  The purple is a deep rich blue-purple, not as blue as it looks.

The second thing I have a pic for is the gear necklace!  She requested a choker length, and it was so hard to put this in the box... as you can see, I have an action shot.  Wink

The drops are a peacock green pearl, and the beads in between the gears are moss agate and amethyst.  I'm really proud of how this turned out.  I was inspired by a necklace I saw somewhere... a while back.  I sketched some ideas last year for this!  And now the opportunity came along and I found the gears.

The other things I made for her are two pairs of spats.  I almost made the kind that Alchemy made for her partner!  But instead, I used these patterns:
Steampunk spats:
http://arcanestickmagic.vox.com/library/post/steampunk-spats-pattern.html
I used grey yarn and a big silver button.
And Spick and Spats:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spick-and-spats
Sorry, I can only find this pattern on Ravelry tonight.  But this lovely lady made them and blogged it: http://atia.blog.com/2010/01/11/spats/  I used black yarn and little silver sphere filigree buttons.  I almost didn't send them either, but they're awfully long for me because I almost never wear heels, and they're a bit too big for me to pull off the spats and sneakers look.  I'll have to make another (smaller!) pair for myself for sure!

I really hope she likes what I made, and I hope everything is okay over there!  (Plus, ladylove, I'm so sorry for spoiling it if you haven't gotten to open the package yet...)

I'm so sorry for the delay!  I found my camera tonight and took some pictures-- I'm also sorry for the horrid quality of the pictures.  If my partner, ladylove, has any better ones, please post them!

Here is the awesome awesome package of clothing, I think all reconned, I got from ladylove!  We both went to the more Victorian side of steampunk.  Smiley

First, a short-sleeved hooded steamy jacket!  This is so soft and fits perfectly!

Then, matching armwarmers!  I think they're made of socks!  They fit beautifully and they match the jacket so well.  When I got the box, I put the jacket and the armwarmers on right away even though it was really hot outside... Wink  I'm sorry I didn't get any action shots from that first night!

And a cute capelet!  (Also very warm!  Perfect for the upcoming fall.)

Everyone, you will not believe how well ladylove packs.  All these things came to me in an impossibly small box!

Thank you, ladylove!  I love everything and it all fits great.  Now I just have to wait for it to get cold so I can show off my steamy goodness!
