Just wanted to share a doll I recently made for my friend's grandmother.

The poor woman is apparently having trouble with a nasty neighbor who does everything from stealing her laundry to throwing things at the cats.
Whereas I think a restraining order would have been more appropriate, she asked my friend to have me sew up a voodoo doll she could use against her. She also sent a snippet of purple cloth I should use in the making, since it had belonged to the neighbor... no clues as to how she got it!!
Well, I certainly couldn't resist making a voodoo doll, and the image of a kindly white-haired grandmother poking huge needles in it and slamming it with a hammer just made it worse.

So here goes... for size reference, the whole thing standing up was no more than five or six inches and I totally made up the pattern as I went. It took about two hours to make since I'm not the world's fastest hand sewer!

I used the purple cloth to applique a heart and make the soles of the feet, then just stuffed what was left inside the doll together with the batting. It was terrible stuff to sew with, it kept slipping free and unraveling!!

The eyes are tiny buttons I had, just waiting for this opportunity... I have yet to ask if it worked, but it sure was fun to make!

Ah! my big, lopsided heart! the pain!
Thanks for viewing, and please excuse the crappy webcam photos.
