1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / I need suggestions! on: September 18, 2010 07:28:26 AM
I just ordered a dress on etsy (yay!) because they didn't carry it in my size at the retailer, and its a halter, and I am having it made with straps instead.

I need suggestions for a necklace (and possibly a bracelet) to go with it.

I want to make it myself, but I dont know what to wear! I could make just a simple strand of pearls, but that seems boring! I need suggestions! I am wearing the dress to my bridal shower, and then to a party after our wedding reception with our friends.

Other accessories: pillbox hat and (ineed a vote on) pumps or espadrilles
Any input is welcome!
2  COOKING / Dessert / Beautiful Eclaires! on: March 28, 2010 09:06:59 PM
I just made almost 2 dozen eclaires from scratch! The best part is, they were REALLY easy! I really thought they were a complicated dessert, but the recipe is quite simple! I will definitely be making these puppies again! Maybe with different flavored fillings!

The finished product, all ready to be devoured! The hardest part was the chocolate sauce I thought, because I didnt want to add too much water and have it be runny, or not put enough and have it be grainy.

My brother posing for a picture to earn an eclaire (one of three he had that night)

my fiance didnt want to put down his controller for his video game, so he ate it no-handed
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / I need help wth attaching lace to my veil :-/ on: September 13, 2009 11:19:27 AM
Maybe someone can help me.

I want to make my own wedding veil, which will be a mantilla with a lace edge.

Here's the problem; I want to place the veil so that the front goes over my face, and ends down at my bust line or so. But when I pull it back, wont the lace be upside down?Isnt that going to look a little silly? Or am I missing something? In my head I see it like basically turning the veil inside out, so that on my back, the lace will be seam side out...

Is there a fix, or am i doing it wrong or is it not really that big of a deal?

Also..one of my bridesmaids is a big girl. She wears like a size 26. Does anyone know where I can find a dress pattern for her?  Huh Huh Huh Huh
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / I could really use some help... on: June 24, 2009 03:47:56 PM
I have decided to do as much of my wedding myself as possible! I am having a really hard time finding some of the things i need for prices that arent mildly insane. Any suggestions you folks have are GREATLY appreciated

I Need:
Russian or French Netting
small rhinestones
seeded paper (you can print on it, and then plant it and it grows flowers)
2 Large pieces of plain chipboard
tiny terra cotta pots

There are two craft stores in my town. Joanns, and Michaels. Neither of them had any of these things. Ridiculous!

Here is a list of the things I plan on making myself;
Save the dates, Invitations and thank you's
seat assignment cards/favors (little seed paper flowers in pots w/ their name)
Aisle runner
birdcage veil
bridesmaid gifts
bouquets/ floral arrangements
Other miscellaneous reception decor

I could REALLY use help finding the stuff i need, and any suggestions anyone has
updates to follow
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / First timer needs help with transfer! on: February 06, 2009 08:24:35 AM
I have read a bajillion posts about transferring images onto polmer, and I want to try it really bad, but im sort of scared!
Do you have to use TLS?
Does it go on top of or underneath the image?
Do I need special paper to do it with my inkjet printer?

Can anyone give me a super easy tutorial?

I checked out glassattic and I think i am more confused now than i was before.

I love the look, but i dont have a clue where to begin!
