1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Baker girl Christmas Wreath on: November 22, 2010 10:32:34 AM
This is my Baker girl Christmas Wreath

I was looking for something a little less Santa Claus and little bit more "me & my friends". I always cook with and for my friends, so this is how it came out.

It was made out of a Styrofoam wreath, covered in yarn, and some baker tools (toys, actually).
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Felt Christmas Stockings (with templates) on: November 25, 2009 12:42:06 PM
These are my first Christmas stockings ever!

I guess they're ok...

I also got the template for download, just in case you wanna try it too.

Here's the link: http://www.interney.net/blogs/media/blogs/comofaz/bota.pdf

The first step is to cut the mold and hold the felt with pins.

This template does the left for the seam, then time to cut, leave a niece. There are two parts, ok?

If it helps, to sew all the same size, select the template with a chalk. So you will be able to follow the brand's time to sew.

Cut 2 strips of about 7 cm in height, with the same width of the boot, felt or other color. Secure with a pin, edge with edge, on top of parts of the boot. To stay on the sweet, perfect place both boots -heel to heel

Pass the seam on top, one piece at a time.

Now join the two pieces, front with front, ie, with colored ribbons out.

Now the trick: before moving the seam that will close the boot, turn the colored bands inside. The seam will be hidden on the back of the fold.

This is also the time to hold a strip of felt, to serve as a hanging. It will stay on top, on the same side of the heel slightly raised. The strip is in the middle of the "sandwich" between the two parts.

Now yes the piece is ready to go to the machine! You will pass in the seam all around, but not at the top.

Now just turn to the right.

After seen it in Apartment Therapy's ohdeedoh.com, I decided to make me some of those...

I'm on a Diet and now I have to eat every 3h, so... breakfast and lunch is not enough anymore.

It ended up so cute I decided to use some of them to keep cookies closed packs and other groceries in my kitchen's cabinets.

Here's my lunch bag tutorial, but it's sadly only in Portuguese (so far): http://www.interney.net/blogs/comofaz/2009/05/19/dieta_com_estilo_hora_do_lanche/

There's a tute in Martha Stewart's too: http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.3a0656639de62ad593598e10d373a0a0?vgnextoid=dec1e003dee15110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Embroidery Kit for my Crafty Mama (pics) on: May 07, 2009 06:32:46 PM
Hi! Cheesy

This is my first topic ever...

So... here's my idea for mother's day.

My mom is a crafty mama. She can sew, paint, build, knit etc. But she is really into embroidery these days...

So.. I decided to put together some sort of embroidery kit:

A classic tissue holder
(She always carry a tissue pack)

An eye glass case
(She can't do it without it anymore)

And an embroidery 'wallet' - to pack a few needles and tools

Final touch: A little bag

Smiley  Hope you guys like it.

I'm Karla and I live in So Paulo, Brazil.

My mom just gave me her beautiful vintage Singer (it's older than me and I'm almost 30!) and it's very entertaining Smiley

I run a craft blog (in Portuguese only) called 'Como faz?' (that's 'How to?') http://www.interney.net/blogs/comofaz/ and I'm also in Flickr http://flickr.com/photos/comofaz

I'm a big fan of Craftster, and I've been around for a long time.. So now I want to stop been so shy and to be more active!

See you around Smiley
