1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My first earrings and necklace!!! on: September 20, 2005 12:08:18 PM
Ok so everytime I go to my mom's house she spoils me! I love it! Hehe and since she is very crafty...she usually spoils me with craft items. This time it was off to a bead shop we went to get the items to make jewelry (a craft I have been wanting to try for a while!) and this is what happened:

and this necklace is from a kit I've had since I was like 13. (22 now)

Please excuse the quality of the pics. The only thing I didn't like about it was that we spent about $25 on beads, t-pins, and earring hooks (beads for a bracelet in the making as well) and it only took about 10 minutes to make the earrings. However these will most likely be going into my store to sell (though I'm kinda attached to them) so all is not lost. Let me know what you think of them.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pattern Modification on: August 09, 2005 12:46:40 AM
ok I'm knitting this washcloth here: http://www.jimsyldesign.com/~dishbout/kpatterns/grfavorite.html

I would like to make a set but they seem kind of plain...how would i go about charting out a design in the middle...even if the design itself was diagonal something simple like a heart...thanks so much!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / best yarn for washcloths? on: August 08, 2005 08:48:17 PM
I've recently became addicted to washcloth patterns just because they go so quickly. I am almost done with one I started today using Bernat Cotton Tots but I don't think it's gonna be very good as a washcloth just because it keeps pilling. Anyone know a good yarn to use. Perferably pretty cheap...I'm a frugal knitter with 2 kids.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Keeping track of your needles on: August 03, 2005 09:50:56 PM
How do you guys do it? Not nessecarily keeping track of them so you dont lose them (I use a wine bottle holder) but keeping track so you know what you have? Any computer programs that do that?
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Bazaar Bizarre on: July 27, 2005 02:36:40 AM
I don't know if this is where this goes or not...If it's in the wrong place please move! I'm trying to find out when the 2005 Bazaar Bizarre is/was and if it's already past when it will be in 2006. I went to www.bazaarbizarre.o rg and it only talks about the 2004 one. I'd really like to go and need to plan it out. Thanks a bunches!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Beginner Winter Knits... on: July 26, 2005 01:22:36 PM
I'm a SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW knitter...especiall y if it comes to anything that isn't garter stitch however I'm also an icicle when winter comes even in TX. I want to knit a supply of things to keep me warm in the winter (mittens, hats, scarfs, etc...) but I'm having trouble finding beginner patterns. Anyone have some good ones they just LOVE.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Poncho Question on: July 25, 2005 02:06:17 PM
Ok my mom REALLY wants me to knit this for her...

http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/ktr-poncho.html

Only problem is she's a big woman and wants it to fit like the one in the picture and she thinks that would be too small. Can someone tell me how I would go about making it bigger?
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / baby blanket question on: July 23, 2005 01:00:24 AM
Hey all! I'm pretty new to knitting so excuse me if this is a dumb question...I'm doing my first project bigger than a headband or bookmark and it's a baby blanket. Still pretty easy though...this one: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-diagonalBabyBlanket.html

My question is...I started out with my 11 straights and i'm at 58 sts and i KNOW that when I get to 126 they aren't gonna fit on it anymore and I'm gonna need circulars. My problem is is that I was wanting to finish it this weekend and I don't have a way to the store to get 11 circular this weekend. I have a 10.5 29" circular...would there be THAT much of a gauge difference? If so, I'll wait but I'm very impatient (hence why only bookmarks and headbands so far). Thanks for the help!

Editted to add: I'm also doing this in Red Hearts Giant Pounder instead of the homespun just to try out the pattern as a first baby blanket. I don't know if this will make a difference in my needle question.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Question about a pattern on: July 15, 2005 09:47:24 AM
I want to make this http://www.magknits.com/warm05/patterns/coldshoulder.htm but I would like to have the sleeve go all the way to the wrist. Anyone have an idea how I could go about doing that?
