1  Little Stained Glass Christmas Trees in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Mannon2 on: December 12, 2015 01:04:05 PM
Playing around with scraps of glass and beads, and feeling Christmas-y, even though we're unseasonably warm here.

2  Help - Someone gave me this loom in Weaving: Discussion and Questions by Mannon2 on: August 16, 2013 09:07:41 AM
I work at a school, and one of the wonderful folks I work with gave me this loom - it used to belong to a family member, and she has no idea how to dress the loom, it doesn't look like any of the looms I used when I took fibers classes as an undergrad, and I don't want to mess the darn thing up!  (and the kids are super-excited to try to use it)  Any thoughts, suggestions, or insight would be greatly appreciated!  MA

3  Watercolors for a Graduation Present in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Mannon2 on: May 03, 2010 09:15:52 AM
My friend's niece graduated from college recently, and she wanted to give her something special - so, we came up with these paintings of some of her favorite things - they're all roughly 3 or 4 inches square - so tiny, but they're going to grace the wall in her first "grownup" apartment, so she's very pleased with them.  I realized I took these before they were matted & framed, and then didn't get any of the "whole package" - so, you'll just have to imagine a light grey matt and gunmetal colored thin frames.

My painting prof always used to complain that my paintings were "too illustrative"....  I was a bit fussed over them, but now I think I like the way they turned out.

4  Shamrock Stained Glass Suncatcher in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Mannon2 on: April 22, 2010 07:39:26 AM
Okay, so I'm on a roll -my goal was to post projects as I finish them - I'm running behind - but I did really finish this in time for St. Patrick's Day...  Got the pattern from Down East Stained Glass -- so I can't take credit for designing it, but I'm pleased with the way it turned out!

Cheesy  I did have a struggle with the stems -- I didn't have sheet copper, so I made layers of copper foil tape - it seems to be holding up so far, but I don't know about durability!

5  Re: Friendship Bracelet Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Mannon2 on: April 21, 2010 10:58:55 AM
Yay!    I received plentiful purpleful goodness from my partners - Received from PinkyK & Craftandbake on Tuesday, and from Ckchan today!

All of them in their purple plentifulness together:

PinkyK made a big purpley sparkley bracelet, then she decided it wasn't up to her standard of knotting, so she included a dantier version, too!  (I'm so very amused by the sparkles, PinkyK - thank you so much for both of them!)

Craftandbake made this pretty zig-zag pattern bracelet with different shades of purple -- I wish I knew how to knot that pattern!

And, last but not least, this diamond pattern from Ckchan - you girls are inspiring me to learn new patterns!

This was a fun first swap!  It's been neat seeing all the different variations on friendship bracelets!

6  Shamrock Mailbox in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by Mannon2 on: April 19, 2010 09:42:30 AM
My friend, who is thoroughly Irish, recently bought a new house, and, of course, needed a new mailbox. This was the end result:

Oooops! I just realized - I didn't take a picture of the front!  Guess I'll have an excuse to go visit, to take an action shot!  Wink

7  Burger & Fries Dessert - Inspired by Skyy Angel's July 4th post! in Dessert by Mannon2 on: July 20, 2009 12:17:52 PM
 Cheesy
Hi, all - this is my first "project" post, so I hope I don't mess it up.

My ten year old was lurking over my shoulder when I saw Skyy Angel's 4th of July post about the burgers-n-fries, well, cupcakes & brownies & sugar cookies...

So, nothing would do but that I make that for him for the occasion of his 11th birthday party!  We're very pleased with how they came out... I posted pictures in the "member's gallery" section.

The kids thought they were great -- some of the grownups thought they were a little strange, but everyone thought they were cute!

(sorry, rotationally challenged)
