11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: WWP Samhain Round 39 (SU 9-30 to 10-6, SO 10-27) on: November 02, 2012 12:59:15 PM
The storm wasn't too bad. It was 4 days cooped inside a 1000 square foot house with a 16 yo & 14 yo teenage boys...
I've almost recovered, but the house isn't looking so hot.
Almost finished with part 2...
Just need to clean off table for work space. Then again, we're ordering pizza and the table needs to be cleaned so we can eat together... hmmm...
Hoping to mail tomorrow morning.
I will take pictures before I mail.
I will take pictures before I mail.
I will take pictures before I mail.
The law of three  - right?

I wish healing energy for those who need it.
Blessings and gratitude - Selkie

Looking out my window into the waterlogged world.
Lots of power outages around us and mandates lowering the driving speed.
Not sure what's to come today, but the School District closed both yesterday and today as of Sunday night.
Obviously, I haven't sent, but plan to get it out in the next few days.
Blessings, love and energy to those whose lives are more affected than mine.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!! I missed the post office!!!!

I'm so very, very sorry, Selkie - it's going to have to be Monday for me too now.  That gives me time to make a lil extra something to make up for being late, and also because I'm a bit insecure about what I've made.

Seriously, what shop shuts at 11:45am?

Please don't worry about it. I'm planning on sending Monday as well.
We're allegedly in the path of Sandy and the electric company has jumped on the 'buy water, ice, bread, milk and paper plates' bandwagon...

That's all there is to be said on that topic!

Just spent the day - 8 hours of driving (I thought it was drive to Penn State and then drive another hour, I was wrong, it's drive 2 more hours) and DS # 2 is home. 10 minutes in the door and WWIII erupts...
Thankfully, no blood sacrifice. - sarcasm...
The time in the car - Mom drove - gave me a chance to finish knitting _____________________________. Now for the felting stage!

Blessings, congratulations and healing to all for the different places and events in the lives of this community.

Did you choose a personal name for your rituals? If so, why did you choose that particular name? If not, why?

I've been keeping my ear open for one. For a while I thought it might be Selkie, but it isn't. So for now I use my birth name.

I figure I'll either be presented with one and it will resonate or I won't.

Thanks for the positive energy. We've been down this road before and it's never pretty, just what needs to be.

Spent 29 HOURS in the ER followed by 8 hours of driving to get DS#2 admitted into a psychiatric facility.
Looking forward to knitting to work through all that.

Use one of the ACMoore Michaels coupons and buy a gallon - it'll cost you a lot less in the end.
(If you're in the US - I don't know what stores are available internationally.)

I've done both my bedroom and kitchen doors and my kitchen window frame. I used page-a-day calendars and modpodge.
They've been up close to 10 years!
We also own our house so I'm not worried about having them glued permanently.
We papered our library with pages from encyclopedia pages and put a base layer of brown paper (brown paper bag type available at lowes/home depot in a huge roll). We did that because we didn't want to have to pry modpodged pages off the wall someday. We used regular wallpaper paste for that.

I've read about doing stairs/floors with decoupage and the main difference seems to be finishing with numerous coats of polyurethane.

Hope this helps!
