1  Re: WWP Samhain Round 39 (SU 9-30 to 10-6, SO 10-29) in The Swap Gallery by selkie on: November 15, 2012 07:00:15 AM
I'm posting pictures - you have no idea how horrible I am at this part of swapping.

I received the most amazing package!

I cried when I opened it. Since my screen name is Selkie, it's kinda obvious that I have a thing for seals. (Gaelic word for seal and mythological creatures who can remove their sealskin to become human.) As an aside, I went to Orkney, Scotland in March to celebrate my 40th birthday and I stood on the very beach where the myth of the selkies began.

Without further ado...

Wisdom rocks - words on Australian rocks!

a poppet

There are no words.
Gratitude, blessings, namaste and shalom.

I can't even begin to tell you how insanely jealous I am of Kali... WOW - amazing work...
I think I'm actually drooling on my keyboard.
BEAUTIFUL!
I was at a woman's retreat this weekend with my mom. One of the other women was talking with mom and they pulled me into the conversation - This woman is from India and her father worshipped KALI - as in Hindu... I was completely floored and i get to go see her altar!
The Kali doll is truly gorgeous and I promise I won't try to sing to her to run away from home.
ACCIO Kali...

Blessings!

Then, the most wonderful item:

A Kali poppet! She is so beautiful, and I just love her. Please excuse my crappy pictures, it's late and I'm really tired. s_i made the little arms from polymer clay!

Everything all together, plus some green fabric bits for a gibbous dress I'm gathering for.

I was so spoiled- thank you so much squire_inaria! You were an awesome swap partner!
(also, you were right about amethyst and rose quartz, but it's moonstone, not citrine. It's just a very yellowy piece. Smiley)

So it's a couple days later (4, but really who's counting other than me?)...

I don't know why uploading pictures always seems to be so tedious? Maybe it's just a mental block I've developed?

On to the pictures...

A checkerboard with fabric yo-yo's for pieces (I know how much work they are and I'm in awe...)

Tic-tac-toe with cinnamon stick bundle x's and rocks!!!

Journals for my kids - DS#2 chose the one with the bigger fire...

These are the extras...

Clothespin bag with supplies!

A box...

And this was all in addition to the napkin/plateholder...

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I am in awe of your skills and your generosity!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
