Here, at last, are the pictures of the great stuff I received from goddessgarb. First, the whole shebang, although I had to stack a lot of it just to get it in the shot. On the left, pages from a Victorian children's book (rather creepy), followed by puzzle pages, atlas pages (I adore maps), patterned and flocked papers of all sorts, vellum sheets, and even a Blick catalog. How did she know I just love looking at art supplies?
There are also some sheets/graphs from some kind of financial book. Lord knows I need financial help, LOL.
Being partners with goddessgarb must have been ordained by the universe, because I LOVE marbled papers, and she happened to have a stash of them. This makes me smile:
They will most definitely find their way into some of my cards and mixed media art. BTW, goddessgarb has been helping me navigate my way through the world of mixed media. She is such a good coach and supporter!
Now a shot of some of my most favoritest things:
I'm going to have a LOT of fun using items from this new stash. Thank you, smmart, for pairing us. Thank you again, goddessgarb, and let's remain long-distance friends!
It looks like aunty.hela has been busy with "real life," so here's a picture of the anchor hoopla I sent her. I also included fabric scraps, buttons, and candy, but those didn't make it in the picture.
Thank you, Januarians, for a wonderful swap. And a special thank you to phnxreign99 for organizing! I love all my goodies, and I compiled all the swap birthday cards from my packages for this photo:
I received a package from aunty.hela. It's beautiful stuff -- two pairs of earrings inspired by my wists AND the cutest button bracelet ever. I'll take pictures, but it will be a few days before I can post them, since I have to use a computer at work to get the pictures off my camera.
BUT I do have pictures of the goodies from LadybugsAndBumblebees AND leighi123. Take a look at all this crafty goodness.
First, from LadybugsAndBumblebees, a super-duper crocheted market bag in a gorgeous shade of teal AND a cute fabric bookmark.
Everything was wrapped in that sweet paper with the trees on it. Thank you, LadybugsAndBumblebees, for remembering that I love tree designs. The paper will surely find its way into some of my paper crafting. There was also a piece of tree themed fabric that I love.
Here's a closeup of the bookmark. The reverse side is a different print, but I forgot to get a picture of that.
Next, the goodness sent by leighi123. She also used green -- imagine that. It's my favorite color! And her son helped to choose the fabric for this set of coasters AND a luggage tag.
What a beautiful job you did on the sewing, leighi123. Here's the design side of the luggage tag with a simply irresistible leaf applique. Also one of the coasters in use.
I am so spoiled by so many swap partners. Thank you, everyone!
Gosh, a lot can happen in a single day! I sent a package to aunty.hela today.
AND I received TWO packages -- one from LadybugsandBumblebees, and one from leighi123. Both were filled with all kinds of birthday delights.
From LadybugsandBumblebees, a lovely crocheted market bag, a fabric bookmark, and a swatch of cute, leafy green fabric.
From leighi123, a set of beautiful fabric coasters and an equally beautiful luggage tag.
Thank you both! Photos to follow.
Meanwhile, I have photos of the sweet package I received from our fearless leader, phnxreign99.
When I opened the box, there was this knit fleece fabric. The note suggested that I use it, along with some pink, to make a coat for my dog Brooke. Here's Brooke modeling the raw material for her next piece of clothing:
Imagine my smile when I found, underneath the fabric, this convenient little stash:
I'm enjoying a piece as I type.
Then, the thing I was expecting, but it's much more beautiful than I had anticipated. A threadcatcher/pincushion/sewing caddy featuring -- you guessed it -- a green print! I love this.
Thank you so much, phnxreign99. You really nailed it!
I received the most specialest things from dharma_rebel! She definitely stalked me well and hit it on the nose for my tastes.
First, a group shot -- all the lovely scavengie thingies:
The only thing that didn't make it into my individual pictures is the something local -- lovely bottles of handmade body wash and lotion (on left in the pic above).
I was SO happy when I opened the package and found lots of lovely things selected and made just for me. This is one of the happiest things about swapping -- it makes me feel unique and special.
Yarns. Something green (self-striping yarn, which I have been craving) and something recycled (turquoise sari yarn):
Aren't they beautiful?
Next, something dotted ( a jewelry roll to use for notions) and something related to M (stitch markers matching the fabric of the jewelry and some with leaf designs. I'm crazy for leaf designs):
Something funny (OMG, this notepad is hysterical. It's made for times when you need a quick comeback, and it has places where you can check "get a life" and such.
Sender's choice, an envelope inspiration journal modeled after one in my wists. This is so creatively made, with cherished images and words everywhere. Each pocket has a tiny bit of inspiration tucked inside.
I saved the best for last. Something hard, a heart-shaped stone to add to my collection:
It's all wonderful! Thank you, dharma_rebel, for all the sweetness. I'll be treasuring these things for a long time to come.
