2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Woven Felted Wool and Denim Purse on: November 15, 2010 02:43:47 PM

Hi everybody,

I thought I'd share this purse I made this past weekend from repurposed materials. I used denim for the base fabric of the purse, as well as the strap, and I used strips of wool felted sweater scraps for the front of the purse. I lined it with a cotton muslin fabric that I had tie-dyed a couple summers ago.

I really like the way it turned out. I had this idea in my head for the longest time and finally got around to making it. I posted a tutorial on my blog if you'd like to see how I made it.

I'd love to know what you guys think!

Thanks,

I think this is awesome! I especially love how you kept the lapel the same shape and it became the flap of your clutch. Great idea reusing the lining for the lining of the purse, too. I think it looks great! Nice job!

That is super cute! Great idea, I've not seen that done with a t-shirt like that before. Gives it a little flirty, feminine look! Nice job.

Thanks, everybody! I'm wearing it at work today and have gotten lots of compliments! And its warm and cozy on a cold, rainy day. Smiley

I finished this scarf tonight and I am really happy with it. It is made from leftover felted sweater scraps. Its a great project to use up those scraps because you want your leaves to be several different colors. I machine stitched the leaves and acorns together, and then added detail to it by "sketching" with the sewing machine. I love the messy, sketchy look that it has.

If you would like to see how I made it, I have the full tutorial on my blog: http://refashionology.com/?p=363
Please do let me know what you think and if anybody makes one, please let me know and post your photos! I'd love to see other variations on this idea!

Happy crafting!

leighi123- I have friends who say that the doggies are good luck for the Wolverines in their shirts. They want to make sure that the pups have them on for every game! I love that your dad is such a big fan too! Go Blue!

Thanks for your comments!

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Peaches & Heidi get refashioned team shirts! on: September 18, 2010 03:52:48 PM

Well, its college football Saturday, and Peaches the Pomeranian Princess and Heidi the MinPin insisted that they needed to support their team. So I made them these cute shirts. Peaches' shirt was made from a man's t-shirt and a remnant of cute blue fabric I got for 40 cents at the thrift store! It has a print of doggies and kitties on it and is super cute. Heidi's striped polo shirt is a child's 3T shirt that just needed to be taken in down the front to fit her. Really easy. I think they look really adorable.

I have a tutorial on my blog if you'd like more details on how I made them. http://refashionology.com/?p=329
Maybe your doggie would like to support your favorite team?

Thanks for looking!
