Wanted to share with you guys my latest project! These coasters were made from my old 2010 calendar.

I'm unfortunately bad with resin, so I used a lot of Mod Podge

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Picture Frame Makeoever on: March 18, 2010 08:38:29 PM
I got a picture frame from my grandmother this past Christmas. It's a silver frame with star cutouts and it has interchangeable sheets of paper so that you can change the color of the stars. Problem was the colors of the papers were a little gaudy ... they came in bright primary colors like yellow, orange and green. And they didn't match the silver of the frame or anything else in my room. So I decided to do something about it ...

I cut out a piece of scrap paper the same shape as the frame. I was too lazy to cut out each individual star, so I cut and pasted bits of colored paper all around.

I really like the outcome!

That's me and my momma!  Cheesy

I used old envelopes for the paper.

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Diamond Glaze on: June 12, 2009 05:34:51 PM
So I decided to try my hand at making scrabble tile pendents ... and I bought Diamond Glaze to seal my images. The problem is they're not turning out very well. I did as was directed on the bottle and applied the glaze directly over my image. The problem is I'am getting little bubbles and, when the pendent is dry, the surface isn't very smooth ... you can clearly see the indents in my tiles when shown in the light. So then I decided to use a paint brush and just apply a couple of thin coats to my tiles. These have turned out better, but you can still see lines left from the paint brush.  Cry

These are not like the tile pendents I see on websites like Etsy! Am I doing something wrong? I would appreciate any advice you can give me ... or perhaps a subsitute finish to cover my pendents!

7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Used gift cards on: February 16, 2009 02:34:53 PM
I have a lot of used gift cards and old themepark passports that I don't know what to do with. The ones with nice pictures on them I've thought about reusing for a gift tag or something like that ... problem is paint won't stick to it. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!  Wink
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Remember this ... ? on: January 17, 2009 09:39:03 PM
Remember those toys called View-Masters? They look like binoculars and you put in a reel with those little pictures on it. Well I got a box of my old toys and I have about 15 of these little reels with pictures of various Disney movies on it. I'm a huge Disney fan so I don't want to throw them away, but I have no idea what to make with them! Any advice would be appreciated!
