11  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / A microwave plate turned into a mosaic! on: May 03, 2010 07:49:34 PM
Hi! I made this for my future mother-in-law's birthday. She likes trees, so I thought she'd like this. It was my first attempt at making a tree, so it actually looks more like a cupcake, but whatever. She liked it lol

Pre grout:

and post grout!

12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / magazine inspired picture frame on: April 23, 2010 02:02:04 PM
I like to cut things out of magazines because for some reason it's very relaxing to me. I don't know why. Obviously, this makes for a large collection of magazine clippings and now I'm doing things with them. I bought this picture frame for pretty cheap at Walmart and decided it was too plain.

and then did this!

Enjoy!
13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Button Tree from Hangers *updated with new pictures!* on: April 07, 2010 12:17:45 PM
I have no idea if this is the proper place for this, but I made this tree from hangers and now its going make something nice to go in my house!

I cut the coathangers in half and then again at the bends close to the actual hook part so that it was two separate pieces. I bent each piece so that the ends were more round and then bound them together with floral wire. I attached buttons to the branches and after a kabillion buttons and a few hours... Ta-da!

14  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / mosaic window for kitchen on: April 02, 2010 04:16:10 PM
This is my first attempt at mosaic windows, so I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. That being said, this isn't all that amazing, but it was fun and I learned a ton for the next one!

when I started, I tried to make some kind of pattern, but I quickly ran out of glass globs, so I took a crazy picture and then waited until I had money to buy some more.

Then here it is all filled in with glass globs.

Then I waited another long period of time while I waited to buy grout. and finally grouted everything while my fiance gave himself a grout 'stache.

and here it is at 2 am when I finished everything.

and lastly, me holding it at my new house! I would post pictures of it hanging, but it is in an aluminum frame and my fiance is trying to figure out how to hang it! any suggestions on that are welcome!

15  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Yard Totem Birdfeeder! on: April 02, 2010 04:05:04 PM
Hi! I've recently completed another totem feeder and wanted to share. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out with the exception of the excess glue in the clear jar in the middle. Unfortunately because of how I made it, I can't access the inside and get the glue out. Oh well.

Here it is in my crafty corner:

and here it is in action!

16  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / asylum white to crazy colorful new house! on: October 28, 2009 08:19:52 PM
My fiance and I just bought a new house and it was white all over. seriously. there was no color other than the fireplace and the countertops. it hurt my eyes to look at it! so here are the before and afters!

Ok. This is the horribly white kitchen with my fiance Jared looking crazy.

This is the place where the table would go.

17  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / yard totem for future mother in law on: July 07, 2009 06:59:04 PM
I decided to make something for my future mother in law for her garden and this is what I came up with:

It doesn't function as anything else but a pretty thing to look at, but I like it and I'm pretty sure she will too because she loves that colbalt blue on the top!

comments/criticism appreciated!
18  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Bottle Chandelier on: June 26, 2009 10:32:22 AM
My friend Jess and i have a standing crafty date once a week and this week we made a bottle chandelier! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of it in the daytime except on my phone and i can't get them onto my computer right now! But the chandelier has lights so it looks cool at night!

We took a grill grate and cut it up the middle and bent the spikes out. we attached 4 hook things (Jess knows what they're really called. I don't remember) and then attached the chains and grouped them together so that it would be secure. Then we added the bottles and added Christmas lights! and VOILA!

and my favorite one!

it turned out way better than I thought it would! and it really wasn't that hard! comments and criticism appreciated!
19  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / metal face for garden on: May 20, 2009 12:49:32 PM
I spend way too much time in my garden and I wanted even more stuff to look at so I've been compiling parts to make this:

His eyes are bike wheels, his nose a shovel head and his mustache is a rake. His "eyebrows" is the piece I cut off the back of the rake. The whole thing is being held up by the bike chain.

soon I plan on attaching a cast iron sink to the wall to be his mouth.

(farther off shot to see where the sink will go!)

and one last shot because I really like it! lol

let me know what you think!
20  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / garden dangler contraption on: May 17, 2009 08:09:23 PM
I have no idea what this thing is:

(it also opens like this)

but I knew when I saw it that I wanted to make something with it so after spending a dollar and attaching some beads, I made a wierd garden jellyfish-looking thing!

if anyone can tell me what that silver thing is, i'd appreciate it! lol I'd also appreciate comments or criticism!
