i understand that the pictures on this tutorial aren't working. i'm not sure what to do seeing as i got a new computer this past year and don't have them stored on my new comp. i'll try to figure something out, until then you'll just have to bear with me.

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Graduation Gift! on: June 02, 2006 02:27:29 PM
This year I'm a senior and well. I'M GRADUATING! and so are my friends! AND! we're all having graduation parties. I think as a senior it's still nice to get my friends gifts, and not spend a lot of $$ because well. i'll need it at college.

if anyone's in my boat, i have an idea! a handy dandy bedside/ over-the-door/ roll-it-up caddy would be SUCH A GREAT IDEA. if it's portable, cute storage then it's what every college kid needs.

check out the latest edition (summer 2006) of cutting edge magazine OR the new craftster book (pg 145) for some ideas. it's worth your time!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: Promalong - Making your own Prom dress? Join the club! on: April 12, 2006 07:55:11 AM
I'm pretty sure i posted on this thread last year, but whatever I'm back! Last year i got a dress at Goodwill for $25 and boy it was a BEAUTY. This year i made my dress from a pattern. It's simplicity #4272 and i did a combination of view B and C and a little altering to make my dress! It's a Jessica McClinock pattern and the fabric does a gradient from aqua blue to dark aqua blue! I'M PRETTY MUCH IN LOVE! the lining is gold and there's a little matching gold button (i made it myself) to match!

The pattern called for boning, but I didn't put that crap in because last year i had boning in my dress, and when i would sit down i had to stop breathing. and i almost burst out of my dress after i ate dinner, so i figured i'd give myself a little wiggle room this year.

Prom should be a blast, and I'm so excited because i made everything myself! I don't care if everyone else's dresses are more awesome than mine. I'm just excited to go in something that I made for MYSELF! These pictures kind of blow. I tried and i failed. Maybe i'll take better ones later.

I also made a matching clutch using this tutorial, and i'm IN LOVE with it! (You can see pictures of it on that thread)

The boyfriend will be sporting a matching vest and tie made by yours truly! Smiley

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: classy pleated iridescent clutch TUTORIAL ADDED!!!! on: April 12, 2006 07:52:24 AM
Here's my take on this sexy little clutch. I used a zipper as a closure instead of a button, but otherwise i stuck to the directions! You did an awesome job with the tutorial and i thank you kindly for it! <3

I made the clutch to match my prom dress for my senior prom. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, although i wish i would have ironed those pleats better because they're looking a little sad. hahah

the clutch!

the zipper. i lined the bag with some crazy fabric that was my grandma's. It's like mustard yellow with jillions of blue flowers. it's adorable.
