I went to the site at work and actually laughed out loud - which means now everyone at works thinks I'm milding unbalanced Smiley

Okay...I don't think taking massive amounts of pictures of your cat is nerdy...really (because I do it).  My neice loves my kitties so I have taken a tonne of pictures that I am turning into a collage for her - yup I'm a geek.  My mom and dad are now referring to my monsters as the "grandkitties" and to drive my sister-in-law nuts I told my neice to call them her cousins Smiley

5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Plastic Cat Litter Containers on: November 27, 2004 02:28:12 PM
I've got a few plastic cat litter tubs with handles that I am at a loss of what to do with.  I've used one for storing litter (so I can STOP buying said containers) and one carries laundry supplies.

I have two more that I don't want to throw out - but can't think of a thing to do with. Any ideas???  I'd like to decorate them in some fun way...but don't have a clue where to start.

I think I saw that Trash to Treasure too!  They made these memo boards with the empty frames -  I think (because I wasn't paying attention) that they attache wood painted with blackboard paint to the back.  You could probably do a mixed thing - one pane corkboard, one pane white board etc.....

All I remember was they paid next to nothing for these frames and sold the message boards for around $50!

Awesome ideas...and I am going thrifting tonight!!!

One cool idea I saw was making a snake out of them by stuffing them.....I'm in the process of modifying the idea to be one of those things you put along the bottom of the door to stop drafts.

They look really really cute - and silly Smiley  Once I'm done I'll post pics.....

Online - I LOVE Knitty...the patterns are cute and current.  Magknits is another new fav.

For vintage patterns - I get books & magazines from Goodwill.....I scored a stack (6 or so) of Patons vintage booklets for 25 cents last week.  I also pick up old Knitters magazines....they always have great techniques.  I find if you peek through the booklets you'll find some classic patterns or ones that can be easily adapted.

I have resisted the urge to buy the 80's ones.....big hair and dolman (sp?) sleeves!!! Yum Wink

Yes, us cat owners are a weird bunch...I admit it.  Last year I bought my nephew a Leaf's jersey.....which I thought would look quite cute on my ex's cat.....I think the cat swore at me and his brother laughed.

My cat Baxter always looks at me when I call him as if to say "WHAT!!"  I've put hats on him...but he always looks at me like i am a stupid human for finding it funny (like my humour isn't sophisticated enough for him).

Meanwhile...my kitten can't get enough Dr. Phil - don't ask
