24  Ribbon Organizer in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by RyverChyld on: August 23, 2009 01:40:10 PM
I used to have my ribbons all stacked up on a shelf and everytime I would try to get just the right ribbon for a project, the whole stack would fall down and then the ribbons would unwind and just make a big mess!!  SO one day out of pure frustration, I decided to make my own ribbon organizer!  I had seen this one on here....  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=225080.0   and I thought.....I can do that!!

So here is my ribbon organizer!

I also used dress pins to pin all the ribbon ends down.....it works much better than the tape I was using before!!

So now me and my ribbons are happy!! Cheesy

25  Re: Crafty Crayola Craft Swap Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by RyverChyld on: August 22, 2009 11:13:35 PM
Hey, My partner CraftyAggie is having some computer problems since she just moved to FL to work at Disney and is trying to get everything settled there.....so I will go ahead and post what I sent her!!

First everything!
I sent 2 tote bags, 10 bookmarks and melted crayons and supplies!

I machine embroidered her name and appliqued crayons on the front of a large tote bag!
The stripes on the crayons are felt ric rack!

On the back of the large tote bag I embroidered Mickey and Minney!  Because we both love Disney!

It says  "Pink-The other primary color!!"

Then I embroidered her name in the ROYGBIV colors on a small tote bag!

Then I put Mickey and Minnie on the back of the small tote bag!

Then I sent a bunch of crayola supplies!

And 2 Winnie the Pooh notebooks and Winnie the Pooh pencils!

Then I melted a bunch of crayons into Mickey Mouse shapes and spelled out Mickey Mouse, so she could sing the Mickey Mouse song!

Then I melted more crayons into fruit and heart and flower shapes!

Then I made her 3 Disney themed bookmarks!

Then I made her 7 crayon shaped bookmarks!  She loves to read!!  So I made alot of bookmarks!

I wrote quotes on each crayon bookmark in silver gel pen!  And glued felt ric rack on for the stripes!

Quotes from her favorites:
#1   If you can dream it, you can do it. ~~Walt Disney
#2   There is no friend as loyal as a book. ~~ Ernest Hemingway
#3   Not all who wander are lost.  ~~ JRR Tolkien
#4   A kiss is a rosy dot over the "i" of loving.  ~~Cyrano de Bergerac
#5   Beauty is not caused,  it IS!  ~~ Emily Dickenson
#6   The object of Art is to give life a shape.  ~~ William Shakespeare
#7   Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~~ Pablo Picasso

I had a ton of fun making crayola stuff!

Small Item = 1 point
Med Item = 2 Points
Large Item = 3 Points

For new swappers there might be a bit of a confusion as to what is a large, medium, and small item, so here's a handy guide:

Small = By time, 2 or less hours of crafting. By $$$, $10 or less. By size, Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

Medium = By time, 2 or more hours of crafting. By $$$, $10-$30. By size, one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf

Large = By time, 3 or more hours of crafting. By $$$, $30 or more. By size, A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse

This is not totally set in stone, but is a rough estimate of sizes described by time it takes to make package, by physical size and by cost.

Rules:

All participants must check in at least once a week, by pm or by posting in this thread, and tell their progress.
If your partner is within the US, you MUST get a DC and pm it to the organizer and your partner.

Be aware of the comments section on wists, someone might add something and you go to make it, but didnt notice in their comments that they would only want that item in a different color.

Important note: Feedback will be given after you send, your partner receives, and post pictures of what you sent. If you do not have a camera, please make arrangements with your partner so they can take pictures before they send.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.  PLEASE SEND YOUR PM TO  RyverChyld  PLEASE PUT "PINK SWAP"  IN IN THE SUBJECT OF THE PM

Okay, here we go.  Please check in with your partner if you have any questions.  When it gets time to send out, you must send a pm to both me (the organizer) AND your partner with the Delivery confirmation number (or copy of mailing reciept for those of you international participants for whom delivery confirmation is not available).  And again, you are required to check in via pm (to me) OR post to the thread at least once a week.  I will be keeping track.  Communication is key to a successful swap.  Okay! Lets have some fun!

30  Personal/Private Swap Gallery, Third Quarter 2009 in The Swap Gallery by RyverChyld on: July 07, 2009 08:35:47 AM
Hi
SewHelpMe  and me were partners in the mini art quilt swap!
We were supposed to swap just the quilt and no extras, but we agreed to swap a fabric ATC as well!
So I made this fabric ATC for my swap partner SewHelpMe !!

This was my first ever ATC.  I stamped the fairy on white fabric and cut her out.  Then stamped her again on pink fabric and cut out just her dress.  Then I satin stitched her on a black background.
I  hand embroidered her shiny silver wings!

Here she is!

Then I signed the back

She looks like she is ready for a fancy fairytale ball!!

And here are the awesome fabric ATC's that SewHelpMe sent me!
