1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / what'sin your bag? on: January 25, 2010 08:12:38 AM
I was just wondering what do we all have in our workbag?
For example, in mine I have tape measure, small crochet hook (handy for picking up dropped stitches quickly), an emery board (snagged nails can damage work, and if I'm in the middle of something I don't want the inconvenience of searching for one), scissors, tapestry needle, micropore tape (I tend to get splits and holes in my fingers if I spend too much time knitting on a regular basis - like the run up to Christmas - and this is a good protection), small balls of yarn to use as a contrast to mark end of rows etc, and of course my work which is currently my first ever pair of socks on four pins.
Also what is the average number of projects you would have on the go at any one time?
I love reading all your posts, and if I could turn out work to the same standard as some of you I'd be so proud!

3  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / newbie in Bulgaria on: January 16, 2009 06:51:22 AM
Hi, I'm living in Bulgaria and have more time on my hands now than before. Apart from the time taken up by growing our own fruit and veg, and tending to a few animals I am now able to spend 'spare' time on other projects, especially during the winter months.
I've been an avid knitter for more years than I care to remember, and have now vowed to learn to crochet. Any tips would be gratefully received!! Sourcing materials for craft projects will be interesting here, so wish me luck. Fortunately I'm blessed with determination so watch this space ............. Wink happy crafting everyone, and I look forward to seeing lots of finished projects on this site.
