1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: DIY end tables and such??? on: March 14, 2005 06:55:05 PM
Do you have a router? if so, I'd say make the top of the table out of a nice thick piece of board (maybe oak?) and some.... 1 x 2s.  assemble the 1x2s like a picture frame (if you mitre the corners it would look extra nice!) then place your piece of board on top and attach (i'd go with wood glue and some very small nails so you won't see them on the top too much.).  then place the four legs in each corner of the frame, then route out little slits  in all of the legs to slide your shelves into.

I hope that made some sense to you-- it makes sence to me, but only because I can picture it in my head haha..

good luck! message me if you need more help, im pretty handy in the wood department.

Those are so cute. I recently became obsessed with polymer clay, and have been wanted to try out some figures-- I think you will be my inspiration!

I like the name growl bear, its very suiting.. (blue robot, equally suiting.)

What gauge wire did you use?

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / ripple afghan problems on: January 12, 2005 01:38:54 PM
I haven't crochetted in probaby a year and a half. I really want to make a ripple afghan.  The patter I found calls for a G hook.  I chained the 252 stitches, but then found out in row #2 that I crochet WAY too tightly!!! If I use a larger hook will the pattern still come out somewhat the same?  (I'd have to start over of course) Or--- does anyone have a pattern that calls for a larger sized hook?

I plan on making the blanket out of a bunch of colors (I bought it for a different blanket, but never finished it oops! hehe)  i'm moving out in the spring after i graduate, so i want this blanket to be for me new home Smiley

I saw a shawl on this website that had a shell pattern, could that be converted into a blanket? that would be really pretty tooo!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: e-6000 flammible? on: January 09, 2005 09:11:20 PM
Thanks for the information! Now I can have endless possibilities with votive holders!!!! why do i love votive holders so much anyway? Smiley
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / e-6000 flammible? on: January 09, 2005 12:39:37 PM

I know this is probably a silly question, but is it safe to use an adhesive (e-6000 in this case) on a votive or candle holder?  I was thinking about attaching glass flat marbles to the outside, but im worried if the adhesive would be flammible on the outside of the glass?
