Eight more to go...

Much of last year, I was working a horrible job with achingly long shifts, so I didn't touch my BAP after May! Finally picked it back up, and have a little progress to show. This is roughly two days of work.

Thank you for the compliment. It's 18 count this time. Decided to give my eyes a little break after doing my last big project on 25 count. The 18 is a breeze in comparison, though I kinda miss the itty bitty stitches.

Two weeks in! So, so much confetti on this project. Fingers crossed that it'll be worthwhile and make for an awesome blended picture.

It really does seem silly to charge such high shipping for something as lightweight as floss.

Boy... I want American floss. You say that 50cent is a lot? Really? I've been checking some websites ever since I saw this and I found several prices. The one more expensive than the other...

DMC, one skein, €1.19 (that is $1.70). On another website, $0.86. And that's online, which is always a bit cheaper. In shops I have seen floss of almost €2.00 a skein, $2.86. Yep...

I am definitely grateful for our DMC prices - I only pay $2.00 or more for silk! I could never afford my big projects at those prices 

Got my supplies yesterday - what a beautiful floss toss! I love how rich and antique-y these colors are, going to enjoy working with them.

After creating the pattern in February, I was FINALLY able to order thread and fabric for my next big project today! I cannot wait to get started.

Final piece will be 10 inches wide by 14.5 inches tall (180 x 260 stitches,) on 18 count bone/bisque aida. I expect to take a while!

I'm gearing up for my next BAP, and am trying to sort out where the best floss prices are. There's a Hobby Lobby and a Michaels in my area, but they're both about 30-45 minutes away (in different directions.) My local needlework store carries DMC, at 50 cents a skein! Ouch. Online prices seem comparable to the LNS. I'm hoping to find out what the chains are charging before I go a-questing. Needing at least 54 skeins...I'd like to save what money I can.
