21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes on: February 18, 2014 06:02:36 AM
This is a 5x7 mixed media collage.  The photos are just camera phone pics but I wanted to share and have no patience.  It's a canvas board base with papers, ink, watercolor, acrylics, paper tape, joint compound...maybe more?  I forget.

When I varnished it, the blue ink smeared all over, so it looks different now to what it did when I thought it was finished.  Ha.

The two goddesses are temporary tattoos.  I like how the transfer left them a little rough around the edges.  And middle.

The heart is my favorite.  Just a printed out heart with watercolors and ink, then added Glossy Accents to make it glisten and add dimension.  The join compound stencil is called pomegranate so I added a dot or two of Glossy Accents to random "seeds" to give them a bit of pop also.

The whole thing turned out a bit darker than I wanted but if I scan it in I may be able to lighten the prints, at least.  Smiley

Hallo!

I haven't been around for a couple of months and this is the first thing I've finished since...er...October?  Anyway, this is a mixed media collage piece.  I got to try out some fun new-to-me techniques.  I used canvas board as a base and layed with paper, paints, inks, joint compound, watercolors, lace, and some little water drop looking embellishments.  The heart is wood that I papered and painted.  I made gears using the Tim Holtz gears dye for the Sizzix and used shrinky dink plastic.  I inked them then I covered them (badly) with Glossy Accents.  I also got to use clear embossing powder for the first time.  Whee!

It's been a while!  I got married and with all of that madness I haven't had much time to make things.  I made this curiosity box from a dollar store wood jewelry box with a magnetic closure.

On the front is a miniature tarot card mounted (wheel of fortune) on cardstock and surrounded with little stars.

Side detail; the "knob" is a repurposed earring.

And what's this?

A little scene!

The houses are wood stained with ink.  The moon is clay, painted with acrylics.

The sides are covered with more tarot cards (the moon, the sun, the fool, the lovers)

And on the left side, a palmistry chart.  I made the frame from cardstock (what a pain it was to fit!) and then embellished the hell out of it.

So there you have it!

This looks amazing!

Also - you are prolific and awesome!  Every project that I've clicked on today because the photo appealed to me has been one of yours!  I never notice your user name until I've clicked over to your blog and I'm like SHE HAS DONE IT AGAIN.

Awesome!  I really love that color of green, and I like the other colors you paired with it.  I want to live in that house!
