21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Naalbinding, first completed projects on: March 17, 2009 06:46:14 PM
This Is what I made after going to a workshop in naalbinding. I haven't really gotten around to making more yet, but I do have plans.

It's a tiny backpack, pulse warmers and a kitty toy. The yarn failed me two thirds into the backpack so I had to finish with another colour and I really hated it so I bought some raw wool in beautiful colours and hid the grey. It looks like a mushroom when you wear it. A psycedelic mushroom Cheesy

22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / More granny blankets. on: March 17, 2009 06:39:09 PM
I found two more blankets among my pics.
This one I made for one of my nieces. It's made from acrylic yarn and approxiametely 150X180 cm. 156 squares. This one took years to finish, mostly because I hate working in syntethic yarns.

This is the one that really got me started. It's made for my other nieces baby daughter and is about 120x100 cm. 168 squares. All wool. Smiley

Hope you like them.

23  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Suicide bunny on: March 17, 2009 06:26:50 PM
I made this a couple of years ago for my sometimes very depressed friend. It's inspired by a book called Suicide Bunnies that I knew she loved.
She loves it and keeps it on her bed.

24  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My poppets. on: March 17, 2009 06:23:11 PM
Here are two of my poppets.

This was my very first one, made for my nieces daughter who wanted a doll for her first birthday. It's called "gocka" wich was her way of saying "docka" (swedish for doll)

Close up

This one was made for the daughter of one of my favourite singers Mike Åkerfelt of Opeth.

Hope you like them.
I've made one more, but he was given to my nieces daughters cousin for christmas and I didn't get around to take a pic. Sad
25  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Granny blanket finally completed! on: February 25, 2009 09:55:45 AM
Last year I made 5 different baby blankets in granny squares. Finally I decided that I needed one for myself and so I went ahead and made 320 squares, but then came the holidays and I had to concentrate on making presents and the squares was forgotten.
Anyway, a month ago I decided that it was time to put them all togeter and here's the result:

Close up:

It's entirely made out of wool superwash and is so warm and cozy.
26  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Hem vs. flax? on: September 14, 2006 05:05:57 AM
So I read about making knitted hemp cloths for scrubbing and such. When I got in the shop I must have had som kind of blackout 'cause when I got home I had unspun flax with me.
It's ok to knit with, but does anyone know if it's any good for scrubbing? Does it have any of the selfcleaning features that hemp has?
Anyone? Please help!
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blindside Jacket on: May 21, 2006 07:17:17 AM
I thought I should share my Blindside jacket (made for my elder daughter, who is also modelling). Since she's a big fan, and she needed a jacket for spring/summer, I thought I'd just make the best of it.
Here's the front:

And here's the back, complete with backpatch made from official merchandise, and autographs, which sadly faded, so they're now embroidered:

I'm quite satisfied with this one.
28  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Naalbinding on: December 12, 2005 07:09:45 AM
Naalbinding was a commonly usedteqnique (excuse horrible speeling) by the vikings here in the north.
"Det som länge ansetts vara det äldsta svenska arkeologiska fyndet, "Åslevanten" från Västergötland, har nu Kol-14-analyserats och daterats till mellan år 1510 och 1640." Translation: What has been seen as the oldest swedish archeological finding, "Åslevanten" (a mitten) has now been analyzed and dated to between 1510 and 1640.

I haven't been doing it myself, but I've been promised to be thaught next year by a friend and I'm just a little bit excited Smiley (because besides the three hundred projects I work with at the moment I don't have anything to do Wink )

29  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Candlemass - Messiah Action Figure on: November 20, 2005 04:17:11 AM
Anyone heard of the Swedish doom metalband Candlemass? Their frontfigure is a jovial guy called Messiah Marcolin.
Since my boyfriend was doing an interview with him and I was bored for an hour I decided to make him a little gift.

This is how happy he was to get it.

Apparently he showed the doll to everyone shouting "Look! It's me! I'm thin!" and immediately decided that the doll was going to be seated in the very front of their tour bus.

I'm just glad he liked it.
30  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Sewingsupplies in London on: November 06, 2005 03:44:25 PM

I'm going to London for a weekend in December and I'd like to find out if there are any shops where I can buy corset-supplies, such as boning, busks etc.
Are there any fabric shops near Camden? Anything else you don't want to miss if you're a hopeless craftergeek?
I'll be going 2-4/12 and am ever so grateful for any tips you might have!
