1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Preemie clothes. How big shall I make it? on: May 30, 2013 03:37:24 AM
Hi!
Some friends of mine are having their first baby far too soon. It's week 28 and they don't know how long they can wait. Anyway, they asked me to make some tiny clothes for the baby and I have NO idea of how big/small to make them.
I've made tons of baby clothes before, but never to a tiny baby. I've been searching the web for patterns for trousers but no luck.

Does anyone have any idea of  size and where to get a pattern?

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Modified Coraline-inspired Poppet on: March 10, 2010 07:37:09 AM
I made this for my swap partner in the Cute'n'creepy Swap of Doom. It's a modified poppet pattern (the head is poppet, the body is not)
I saw Coraline and got very inspired by the whole having a doll-doppelganger thing and so I made this as a doppelganger to my partner.

Here she is:

Where to put the label??? well....:

Hope you like it.
btw, my partner has received so this is no surprise ruiner.
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Some of the guyes who didn't make it to the Cute'n'creepy swap of doom. on: March 10, 2010 07:29:23 AM
When I entered the swap I had so many ideas and I made most of them, but then I decided that I couldn't send everything so these are some of the "left overs" I have more though Smiley

Death is a mole!

The oh so scary monster beanie that turned out to be a cushion.

That's it! Smiley
4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Kissy fish rattle. Amigurumi. on: September 21, 2009 08:26:12 AM
I made this rattle for my nephew. He really likes it Smiley

5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Big Blue - amigurumi bunny on: September 16, 2009 06:38:54 PM
This is Big Blue. He's (I just assume it's a boy) going to move in with my nieces, soon to be, new baby. He may look small in the pics, but he's 14" tall and will do his very best to protect the newcomer.

And finally modelling a hat for the baby:

I love his long floppy ears, and his big feet. Don't you?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Pippi Longstocking on: September 15, 2009 07:33:00 PM
As some of you may know I have a 2 year old almost granddaughter (my late sisters grandchild) and I think it's never to early to be a Pippi, so I've made her the outfit to wear.
The pattern to this sweater is a traditional fishermans sweater from the west coast of Sweden, and since that's where I live it's even more fitting.
Anyway as I sat there knitting away on the sweater I began to think that it would be great with a matching hat, and so the Pippi-wig hat started to form itself.
Here they are:

Hopefully she'll like them, and hopefully you do to.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Flower bed blanket on: September 09, 2009 08:55:11 AM
I've finished a lot of crochet projects this summer, and have a lot to show, but I thought I'd start with the largest one.
It's 40x50", made out of wool with a crochet hook nr 5. Took me a couple of weeks and was mostly fun.
I used different red, pink and purple colours, framed it with different greens and finished the job with brown edges. It's supposed to look like a flower bed with red flowers. The colours are more vibrant live, but this is what I've got.
This is going to be a wedding present for some friends getting married next week, and since my last wedding blanket was a success, I hope this will be too.

Enugh rambling.

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Crocheted doll on: June 24, 2009 03:37:38 AM
This is Elsie. I didn't know that was her name while I made her (my daughter and my mother is called Elsie) but as soon as she landed in her new mums lap she got the name and it seemed to stick.
Embla 2 years, was very happy to get her and the blanket.

Hope you like it too.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Latest granny square blanket. on: June 10, 2009 02:37:48 PM
This is my latest finished blanket. It is for a couple of friends that are getting married in august, but as usual I couldn't wait. I'm now busy finishing a blanket for another couple who are getting married in september. Pics will come soon.
The bride loves purple but I wanted to keep it rather neutral so I only used a little purple mixed up with grey and white.

Here it is spread on our bed that is 160cm wide so you can get a picture of the size of it.

Detail, the colours are a bit pale. They're more vibrant actually.

Hope you like it.
