Oh my gosh!!! Amazing! Too funny, I bought a real pair and got them two days ago. As much as I love the wooden heel on the real deal I think I actually made mine better. Lol They look amazing! I'm so glad you gave it a shot. Now if only it would stop raining up in Seattle so I can wear them!!

I think it would work with a longer skirt but I think it wouldn't hang as well. Maybe try a full circle, That would drape beautifully!

Is there any way you could post the tie-up for this? It's sooooo amazing! I'm the head of the Seattle Weaver's Guild sheep to shawl this year and something like that would blow people's minds. If you don't want to share I understand but could you tell me how you took a cross stitch pattern and made it into a weaving pattern? Thanks! You roooock so hardcore. I can't wait to show my friends this link tomorrow at the meeting.

8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Bamboo cautionary tale: Judith MacKenzie McCuin. Please read. on: July 13, 2009 02:48:01 PM

So we all are lured to Bamboo's lovely sheen and silk like qualities but it is also Flammable.

During black sheep Judith gave many classes and in one she told this story. Judith decided to do some dying with Bamboo and space dyed it. She set it in her Ziploc bag and placed it in the microwave to set the color, A few moments later the bamboo roving set fire. Judith grabbed a pot holder and took the tray out then put a pan lid over the flaming bamboo. When she lifted the lid after the fire was out it reignited. Only after she dumped the whole thing into the sink did the flames fully go out. Bamboo is a resinous fiber so it can melt then burn and burn and burn. I wouldn't believe it from anyone else. I know I've made gifts for loved ones with bamboo but now I'll be a little more careful in terms of what I do with it.

Omg!!! I'm so honored! You're wedding looks like it was a total blast which is what it should really be about instead of how much was spent. I totally have that same squid fabric and I've been holding onto it for over a year wanting the perfect thing....now I might have to make a dress inspired off of yours.  Cheesy
