The following post contains images of thread stitched into the beautiful shape of a woman's body. Now you know.
I stitched these for my SO. He used to keep them on his desk, but when we moved in together, he wanted them mounted in the bathroom where they are today.
I wanted to make a special gift for my SO. As most of you know, crafting for a man can be a daunting task, but I was determined. After cruising around online and looking through books for inspiration, I decided I would embroider a self portrait. This was my first time making an embroidery pattern and my first time embroidering a portrait.
Luckily for me, my SO is a photographer and has taken quite a few pictures of me. First, I made line drawings of two of his favorite pictures in Illustrator(a vector based computer graphic design program). Then, I printed two copies, one with bold black outlines to trace onto the fabric, and one with thiner colored lines to reference. Finally, I got to stitching! It probably took me about 10 hours total, to make the patterns, trace them, then stitch and frame them.

When I put these together, I liked that they were wrinkled, but now looking at these pictures, I want to take them out and steam them! lol
