1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Coffee Table from 1970's Quadraphonic Speakers on: January 08, 2009 10:30:19 PM
So my friend insisted that I share some pictures of this coffee table I built out of my father's old 1970's Pioneer Quadraphonic Speakers.

I installed 6 wheels and two center brackets to hold the two speakers together.  On top I placed some bumpers to stop the glass from sliding off.  Speaker wire is run under the floor boards from my receiver, making the speakers functional.  Although the glass mutes most of the high ends, they are a nice supplemental bass to other speakers that I have in the room.

Just thought that I'd share!

P.S.-  I just moved into this house in Philadelphia (and other than this, I'm not very crafty), so any other tips or tricks on how to make it look even better are appreciated!
