11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Kawaiiness!! on: July 25, 2009 12:59:38 PM
So I wanted to try another bracelet after making my Fruits Basket one. So I pondered for a very long time and then an idea snuck up on me..and I dare say it turned out better than I had hoped! Its done pretty much entirely the same as my Fruits Basket bracelet...I hand painted them the flesh color and then painted on all the little faces Cheesy I love them! I think there adorable! But onto the picture so you can tell me if I'm justified in thinking so.

The flash kind of messed up the view on a few of the beads but other than that you can see them all pretty good. I cant take credit for err 'designing' all the faces I just kinda went off ones I found. Love to know what you guys think! Thanks for looking!
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Foray into beading on: June 18, 2009 02:16:00 PM
So Ive been attempting and so far Im pretty happy with the results so far. I followed patterns off of Beading Daily..althogh the last pair I kinda wandered...
My first pair came out a little wonky but I still like them  Wink

My second pair turned out a bit better.

My last pair is my favorite I think. The first one went awesome...the second..not so much...lol.

I learned many lessons...like I am completely able to injure myself beading...Would love to hear what you guys think  Smiley
13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bottle Worlds!! on: June 01, 2009 03:18:24 PM
So Ive seen some amazing bottle jewelry but most of the time it invovles little clay creations...but not being that talented I decided to give it a try some other way. These ideas poped in my head and I set at it straight away.
The first is one of my favorite scenes from My Neighbour Totoro, I tried my best to give it a Miyazaki vibe. Im super excited for how it turned out.

And incase anyone is interested I took a picture of it before I shoved it in the bottle, I cut a bit off the sides after this picture. You can kind of see where I cut out the Totoro's but it was a close as I could cut them.

My Flutterby bottle Smiley I swear the butterflies look better than they do in the picture maybe Ill take a picture of them later but the dangly part gave me the most frustration out of all of these! Well besides taking the pictures of coarse!

I havent wrapped them yet I was just to excited to post my creations. I have a few more planned but after having some frustrations I decided to quit for the day Smiley Would love to know what you guys think..sorry the pictures are kinda crap...stupid little bottles are hard to take pictures of!
14  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Bottle Tealight Lantern on: May 17, 2009 09:38:54 PM
So my mom and I went to a Signature and Homestyles party the other night, and they had these outdoor lanterns that reminded me of glass bottles. This is the closest thing I could find to what they looked like: http://www.questinteriors.ie/Garden%20Furniture/Candles,%20Candleholders,%20Lanterns%20&%20Lighting/BJ056.jpg
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions about how to go about the bottom. After cutting the bottom off I have no idea what to do without having the metal piece on the bottom. Is there any way to get the same effect without the metal piece? I was hoping to make something similar out of glass coke bottles since weve got a bunch of them laying around now. I also wouldnt be using REAL candles, Id be using the LED ones that run off batteries but they are the same size I think. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Random Earrings on: May 14, 2009 04:20:01 PM
These are some of the earrings Ive made Cheesy

My result of what happens when you hit a snag and realize that you do not have enough supplies to do the same colors on both earrings.

I dub these my Spring earrings, their my most recent pair and Im proud at how well they came out.

Incase you didnt notice I have a thing for dangly earrings. Would love to hear what you guys think of them! Thanks for looking!
16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Gamer Jewelry (Updated) on: May 14, 2009 04:08:37 PM
I was a bit unsure what catagory to post these but decided to group them together and post them here. The first is a beaded ring I made but the focal bead is the Xbox button from a Guitar Hero guitar. I had to cut it down quite a bit and poke holes in it but for my first attempt at a beaded ring I love it.

For the next one I must first admit that I adore the little guy on the plasmid videos from Bioshock. I saw an evolve today T-shirt and this idea sprung up. Its made out of a domino and I just drew on it with a cd writer pen (I didnt have a small enough sharpie at the time). I thought the beads looked electrobolt-ish so I had to add them.

Would love to hear what you guys think Smiley.

*Update* OMG Thank you guys for making my ring apart of your Gamer Wednesday!! I figured I would update you guys with some new stuff Cheesy

Made these two early on this year, they were both made from an Xbox 360 controller.

And just made these two recently from a PS2 controller.
Thanks again guys! Smiley
17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Fruits Basket bracelet on: February 26, 2009 09:28:00 AM
I bought a GIGANTIC bag of wooden beads from a thrift store. I was inspired by the zodiac collection Shigure has that Tohru first admires at the very beginning of the manga/anime. I found a few pictures from both the anime and the manga and a few projects that people had done themselves. So I started hand painting all of them and decided that I would have to add a few more beads to make it complete. I sealed all the beads with modpodge after I deemed them good enough since it was all I had for some sort of sealer. I first put them on stretch cord but it turned out to be way to huge and the paint kind of rubbed off after awhile. So after almost a year later I had a new idea and set to work. Im pretty happy with how it turned out now even though it took forever to figure out a good spacing. I hope everyone can see all the details on the beads one or two may be hard to see. Sorry for the huge intro Cheesy onto the picture!

18  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Bathroom Humor on: February 26, 2009 09:04:46 AM
So this is somewhat of a running inside joke in our house. It started out as it was going to be something to hang outside the bathroom door knob but evolved to this. I painted it on a wooden plate that I bought from a dollar store. I was a bit unsure what catagory to post it under but I settled for here. I hope no one gets offended or anything.

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Barbie Shoes! on: February 25, 2009 08:06:42 PM
So this is my first post and I should probably mention that I am a long time lurker that finally got around to making an account. Id thought Id share my first pair of earrings that I made like two years ago. I was inspired by all the other awesome people here so here goes nothing! The first pair is the uber girly pink barbie shoe earrings..the second I made at a later date in an attempt to make them more umm classy maybe? I figured since they were gold the that they needed something to make them a bit more formal.
