1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / I bet you no one's ever asked that one! (crazy costume question) on: December 12, 2006 10:25:57 AM
I need costume ideas!
I'm basically looking for anything that's creative and that hasn't been done or that sounds really really cool...but there's a catch...
it has to be do-able in latex or vinyl.

i'm into fetish parties and those are the two fabrics I love to wear (and the two main fabrics with leather they allow in the dress code over here)

so far I came up with a giant poofy marquise dress, but I thought you guys may be a hell of a lot more creative then me!
anyone else have something to recommend?
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / 1900's French old concierge lodge...need help redecorating on: August 30, 2005 01:19:29 PM
So I recently decided to leave Hawaii and come back home. I need to completely redo the apartment I am moving into. The paint is decent in one of the rooms but the rest needs massive amounts of help.

1. I have the most beautiful ceiling "rosaces" and "moulures"
that's what a rosace looks like...sorry I am just too lazy to check how they say that in English, so I'll just put a picture of it.
My problem is that the ceiling was painted with really thick paint and now they look heavy and nasty. Anything I can do to make somehow get the paint off or make it look better?

2. Since this used to be an old concierge lodge...there are no closets. Actually one of the rooms still has a weird little thing in the ceiling where a vent was installed for the old heating system (i.e. let's burn wood to make fire). I was thinking of putting a mezzanine bed (being an old French building the ceilings are rather high) and having my closet underneath it, but that may not work out. Any recommendations?

3. I jut bought the carpet today. I was going for fire red but it ended up being just a shade darker. I was wondering what colors would go well with the carpet.

4  EUROPE / FRANCE / Redoing Appartment on: August 11, 2005 06:53:51 AM
Hi,
quick question, I'm moving in a new appartment...yeah I know I haven't been here more than a month, and I'm already moving.
Either way, I get to redo the paint and the furniture in there. I was wondering where I could go to get paint for cheap. I'm looking for wall paint and acrylics for the furniture.

Thanks.

8  UNITED STATES / Hawaii / blank shirts on: February 20, 2005 06:46:15 PM
I have a crapload of blank American Apparel women's shirts if anyone is interested. I don't have any use for the small ones so I'm trying to sell them. Let me know if interested. The price would come around 2 dollars a shirt, I paid a lot for those because they are sweatshop free!
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / rock t-shirt swap? on: February 11, 2005 02:15:36 AM
How about a swap with t-shirts from diverse rock bands? It could be either reconstructed or plain, the people exchanging would have to agree on that. I think it would be fun to see people's tastes within one specific type of music...
