1  Funny Quote Cross Stitches (Heavy Picture content & strong language!) in Needlework: Completed Projects by becktheanglophile on: February 12, 2009 10:38:18 AM
I did cross stitches for my friends for Christmas. Here are a few of them. They are either quotes my friends have made in the past, or friend nicknames etc.

My Friend Brad sings this darn song at Karaoke ALL THE TIME! Cheesy

My friend Kelly is a little...well, this speaks for itself  Tongue

Oh man...my friend Missy, who rarely drinks got really drunk over the summer, and we went to an all night diner later that evening, and Missy was waiting and waiting for her food and there was a moth flying around and she finally blurted this funny line out in her drunken stupor!  Cheesy

This is a funny quote of my friend Jen

When my friend Terry visited Paris and saw the Eiffel Tower for the 1st time, this was his quote after seeing it referred to as "the landmark of love"...yeah, he's a crack up!  Grin

My friend Shawn has the need to explain EVERYTHING so he got this nickname a long time ago.

The LOST numbers, for my LOST fanatic friend Jen

2  My 1st embroidery portrait (and 1st post) :-) in Needlework: Completed Projects by becktheanglophile on: February 12, 2009 09:12:04 AM
Hi Guys.
this is my 1st ever post, so I hope you like it  Cheesy
Before Christmas I started cross stitching because I was inspired by subversive cross stitch, and wanted to make my friends stuff like that as Christmas gifts. Anyway... after that I moved onto embroidery and did 1 embroidery of a pin-up girl from a pattern. I then stumbled across Jenny Hart's work on the internet and was blown away! I have always had a fondness for portraiture! I then tried my hand at it. I designed the piece in photoshop and transferred it to the fabric. This is only the 2nd embroidery piece I've ever done so if some of the stitches look a little off, you'll know why! LOL! This is an embroidery of my friend Amy. I've done embroidery pieces of 2 more of my friends since this one which, when I have a chance,  I'll have to take some pics of and upload.  Wink

Here is the pic I used as inspiration
