81  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Green Amish Puzzle Ball on: December 30, 2010 08:32:17 AM
I found a pattern for the Amish Puzzle ball while browsing the internet (http://dailyskein.wordpress.com/2008/05/29/cuddly-balls/)  and decided my 6 month old needed one for Christmas.

It's made from some flannel and minky scraps I had lying around. I ad a little trouble sewing the finished pieces together into a ball, but all in all I think it looks great. The only problem: now my husband and brother-in-law want one.
82  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / My First Yarn on: December 24, 2010 11:56:37 AM
I bought a drop spindle kit from mainwoodsyarn on etsy about a year ago. I've finally got brave enough to at least try the 1 oz practice roving that she sent with the spindle.

83  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Abraham Lincoln Poppet Style on: September 01, 2010 03:57:49 PM
My brother-in-law is getting married the end of September and I wanted to get him and his fiance a unique gift. Both are U.S. History teachers and both happen to like Abraham Lincoln the best out of all the historical figures. Thus the Abraham Lincoln Poppet was born.

He is and shall remain shoeless. Mostly because I hated every set I made.
84  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / LDS Sister Missionary Poppet on: August 11, 2010 07:14:09 PM
My sister is currently serving a mission for our church. She's been having a hard time lately, and her birthday was coming up so I thought I'd send her a present. I thought she could use a friend so I made her a mini poppet version of herself.

So here she is complete with name tag. Unfortunately it was too small to actually write on. I shrunk the pattern down to 70% so my sister could carry her around easier when she moves.

(My camera battery is dead and one of my children ran off with the charger so I had to use my cell phone. Sorry for the blurriness.)
85  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / The Teenager Poppet on: July 31, 2010 02:18:11 PM
I've the poppet pattern for over a year and half and just finally got around to making one. My little 4 year old daughter saw her when I had just finished her hair and told me: "She's a teenager."  And I realized how right she was.

To begin with I had let my daughter pick the hair color. Miss Poppet (she is at the moment nameless) decided she didn't like the color. Of course this was decided until her hair was at least halfway done and I refused to start over. So we compromised and she got streaks up front. (In case you can't tell from the picture her hair is navy blue with light blue and purple streaks).

Then she had to have this fancy dress (which was somewhat of a pain to sew). She, however, as a complex about her shoulders and so I had to make a shrug to cover them. Then of course she needed jewelry, so a necklace was made. And she refuses to wear shoes.

Oh, and standing she is 17 inches tall. (My fabric was a little on the stretchy side.)

(She's got a lot of hair and it's hard for her to hold up her head.)
86  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Make a baby for my baby on: June 14, 2010 07:52:29 AM
I know there are lots of Craftster parents out there so I was thinking it would be fun to do a swap where we made a doll for each others child and swapped them.

There could be options for those who have more than one child and would like to receive a doll for each.  I'd be more than willing to organize this if there is enough interest.
87  COOKING / Dessert / Krabby Patties on: February 04, 2010 03:31:17 PM
For my son's birthday we had a Spongebob party. So instead of making him a big cake, I made individual krabby patties.  I got the idea from bakerella.com.

The bun is made of cupcake, the patty from brownies, and the condiments are frosting. Topped with real sesame seeds.

Then I decided to make Coral fries for a full Krabby Patty meal.

Bakerella had templates for the trays and fry papers, only hers were Father's Day themed. So I messed around in Photoshop to make them Spongebob.

89  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Sea Inspired Jewelry Set on: January 09, 2010 12:21:16 PM
I made these for a swap. I was going for a magic of the sea feel.

90  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Cameo Necklace and Bracelet on: January 09, 2010 11:57:06 AM
I made these awhile back for a scavenger hunt swap. I believe they were for the category vintage.

Sorry the pictures aren't the best. One day I hope to get better at it.
