11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / It's Dangerous To Go Alone on: September 28, 2016 10:33:00 AM

I made this for my husbands birthday. The pattern is from StitchLine on Etsy. When I saw it I knew it was perfect. My husband loves The Legend of Zelda video game series and often quotes "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this."

I've been working on it off and on since May, and just finished this a week ago. I could have been finished a lot sooner, but I can only take so much cross stitch before needing a break.
12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fiber Swap on: July 21, 2016 09:28:50 AM
It's been quite a while since our last fiber swap. Is anyone up for another?

I was thinking we could have the requirements be similar to last time. 4 oz of fiber prepared in some way by you (dyed, carded, hand combed etc.)

I was also thinking it might be fun to have a small twist. We could send our partners a few pictures that we like and what they send (color-wise etc.)would be inspired by that.

14  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Lamb, Owl, and Bunny on: June 17, 2016 10:42:40 AM

I made these awhile ago intending them to be party favors for my daughter's birthday party. She was going to have a shabby chic tea party. However, she changed her mind on what type of party she wanted before I even had them finished. I finished them anyway and all have since found a new purpose.

The lamb was given to my niece for her first birthday party. I let my daughter choose between the bunny and the lamb on which one to give her. She decided that since she loved pink so much her cousin must love pink as well. So she got the lamb.

My daughter decided to keep the bunny for herself. She named her Rose.

The owl, I decided to keep. She is currently on a shelf in my craft area.

They were all made from Dolls and Daydreams sewing patterns and can be found here.
15  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pink and Black Paris Doll on: April 26, 2016 12:02:04 PM
I made this doll for my daughter from left over fabric from a dress I had also made her. She loves the color pink, so of course the doll had to have pink hair. She is based off of Dolls and Daydreams Schoolgirl pattern, but I modified the hairline and changed up the outfit.

My daughter is a super creative moment named her Dolly.  Wink
16  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pink and Black Paris Dress on: April 26, 2016 11:56:55 AM

I made this dress for my daughter using Little Lizard King's Aria's Ruffle Dress pattern.  I wanted it to be longer than the pattern called for, but accidently added too much length. It goes down to her ankles.

You can't tell from the picture but the buttons down the front are little pink roses that I found in a jar of old buttons my mother had given me.

When I was finished, I had a bit of fabric left over, so I decided to make her a matching doll.

17  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pig Jumper on: April 26, 2016 11:51:36 AM

I made this Pig Jumper from the Ani-Mazing Suspender Skirt pattern by Little Lizard King, for my 4 year old daughter who is obsessed with pigs. The pattern didn't include a pig face so I based it off of a doll that I also made for my daughter.

18  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ballerina Piggy on: April 26, 2016 11:45:30 AM

My daughter is obsessed with pigs and with ballet. So when her birthday came up, I decided to make her a Ballerina Pig! The pig pattern is from Dolls and Daydreams (as are the ballet shoes she is wearing).  I shrunk the pattern down to about 75% because I wanted to the pig to be a bit smaller than the original pattern.

Here is another picture to show off her shoes better.
19  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / HST Quilt on: April 23, 2016 07:03:19 AM
Two years or so ago I came across this HST quilt tutorial.  I loved everything about it. The colors she chose and the pattern the the blocks made. Luckily, I had an almost two year old who loves the color pink. So I went shopping, cut out my fabric, and put together the top. And that is as far as I got.

Two years later with the two year old's 4th birthday fast approaching, I decided I had better finally get around to finishing it. And it turns out she loves it. She told me it is her favorite blanket. So perhaps waiting was a good thing.

(I had planned to bind the quilt in grey, but somewhere along the line I misplaced or used the grey I had bought. So I ended up piecing the binding together with left over fabric from the top.)

20  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / What's Your Heritage on: April 14, 2016 07:18:35 AM
We have so many people from all over the world here on Craftster and people from many different cultures and heritages. I think it would be fun if people created a traditional craft from their culture/heritage and maybe put their own spin on it (maybe step away from traditional colors etc.).
