Where did you find the hand? Also did you paint the nails like that? If so, great job on making it look old an chipping off. I have no idea how you would even do that.

I love this! Great job. I never would have thought of doing that.

5/23 check-in

I honestly don't pay attention to things like that. When I want to make something, I just go into a store and find fabric I like and buy it.  But usually only enough for my specific project.

Were you wanting to make a doll or buy one? The ones Patraw mentioned above are popular. But you could also get her a cabbage patch. There are lots of patterns for clothes for them. She's not going to care if the doll is a particular type, she is just going to love her baby.

I usually pick a fabric that I think goes well with the other fabrics for binding. Sometimes a solid, sometimes a print. I normally just use one fabric though (unless I lost my fabric and have to cobble something together because I don't want to go out and buy more-then I will do scrappy). And I'm not a fan of sewing by hand unless it's embroidery or cross stitch, so I sew it on with a machine. It might not always look perfect, but so far no one has seemed to mind.

Monday 9 Check In

I usually just use whatever. I tend to piece in white, because white goes on sale more often and I'm cheap. It depends on the top what color I use for the actual quilting. I've never thought about content of the thread.
