281  Re: 2011 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by meleriffic on: February 01, 2011 09:18:43 PM
Finished two projects from stash today. Of course their both small, so they didn't use up much, but they did use up some!

The skirt and headband were made from an old shirt of my husbands. The base of the skirt used to be the sleeves of the shirt. I saw a tutorial for this at kojodesigns.

The skirt has it's own thread here.

I just finished some baby shower presents today. Neither were on my original list, but that doesn't bother me.

First a bunny ear beanie.

And last a newborn skirt and headband. Can you believe the skirt started as the sleeves of my husband shirt?

Its post can be found here.

283  New Born Ruffle Skirt in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: February 01, 2011 08:58:13 PM
I found an awesome tutorial at kojos designs on making a skirt from the sleeves of a t-shirt. As I have a baby shower to attend in a couple of weeks I thought I'd give it a try. So I took one of my husband's old shirts and this skirt and headband were born.  I'm just sad that they are going away.

I finally have pictures of most of my projects. I am now 8/50.

Oh, and the only project that qualifies for the challenge is the Hobby Horses.

Egg Soaps (didn't turn out as well as I would have liked)

Hobby Horses (from a tutorial found through Craftster)

Owl Beanie

Knight's Vest

Yoki Dragon (was loved instead slayed at my son's knight party)

Princess Hats

I finally have some pictures of the projects I've been working on. Most are all from stash. The only project that wasn't completely from stash are the Hobby Horses (I had to buy the socks and the dowel for them).

287  Cupcake Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: December 30, 2010 09:09:51 AM

I made this cupcake scarf for my daughter out of yarn that I had lying around the house. I messed up a bit on the cupcake icing, but I still think it looks great.

I found the pattern on Ravelry. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/girls-cupcake-scarf

288  Play Silks in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: December 30, 2010 09:05:07 AM
I dyed these play silks for my daughter's Christmas present.
There are 6 35x35 squares, 6 11x11 squares, and 6 8x54 scarves.

I bought the silk from here: http://www.dharmatrading.com  and used Wilton's Gel Food Dye to dye them.

289  Palm Sized Scottie Dogs in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: December 30, 2010 08:40:12 AM
For my 6 month old son and my 9 month old nephew I decided to make little Scottie dogs for Christmas. The pattern is from Jenny B. Harris of All Sorts and can be found here: http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/05/softie_scotty_d.html

The blue is Chenille on one side and cotton on the other. The Red in minky on one side and cotton on the other. Both are from scraps left over from taggie blocks I made 2 years ago.

290  Green Amish Puzzle Ball in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: December 30, 2010 08:32:17 AM
I found a pattern for the Amish Puzzle ball while browsing the internet (http://dailyskein.wordpress.com/2008/05/29/cuddly-balls/)  and decided my 6 month old needed one for Christmas.

It's made from some flannel and minky scraps I had lying around. I ad a little trouble sewing the finished pieces together into a ball, but all in all I think it looks great. The only problem: now my husband and brother-in-law want one.
