So after years of making Christmas presents I thought I would try my hand at learning knitting. My aunt tried to teach me a long time ago but it didn't really stick so I learned mainly from youtube videos and exploration. In total I made 6 scarves over the process of about a month. All in all I'm quite impressed with myself although I still need to work on my tension. The first two basic scarves are the only ones I didn't use patterns for and all the patterns I used are off of Ravelry.

First round was scarves for me and my brothers. The first two are just basic scarves and the black one is just a simple ribbed scarf. I couldn't get a good picture of the detail but it looks pretty similar to the one in the pattern. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/new-york-scarf---a-guys-woolie-warmer



Next was 2 neckwarmers for my Uncle and my Father. Both used the same pattern (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mochi-neck-cozy) but my fathers was done in his favorite football team's colors, BC Lions,  black and orange.





Last but not least for my loving boyfriend I made a Gryfindor scarf. Was definatly the most time consuming but the most worth it. I used this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hogwarts-scarf which is apparently really popular amongst Harry Potter knitters.

So I know that this isn't the most creative of bedsheet recreations but I'm super proud of this. I found this sheet at Value Village for like 3 dollars, it was mint condition and I was super excited to find it   And of course since my 19th birthday was coming up nothing seemed more appropriate for becoming an official adult than a spiderman dress. It's just a simple cross bust top and a circle skirt but it's my first attempt at an invisible zipper and it worked out well (well i think it did). It is made of the spiderman sheet and lined with a plain white sheet that was lying around my house. It does have some small things I need to fix but I finished this a few hours before I had to wear it so I'm happy it stayed together and fits me well. Let me know what you think. hey craftsters

so i know there has to be some other fans of caped and non caped crusaders out there. i know there have been comic book swaps before but i was thinking just superheroes. i just wanted to put the idea out there because the universe has been sending me signs (spiderman is showing up way too much for it not to mean something). i'm in several swaps right now but once some wrap up I'd be up for trying my hand at organizing if theres some interest.

 So I don't know how many other chic cyclists we have lurking here on Craftster, but anyone who is one probably knows about Po Campo and the awesome bike bags they make. I've been lusting over their rack bags for at least a month now but because of there limited availability and large price tag, I decided to make my own. I created the pattern using pictures off the internet and measurements from their site.

so just some more charms and nerd earrings.
first is a mario hat charm i made for a friend from work

and the next are earring of no-face and the soot balls from spirited away. Now i did steal this idea from a deviant art post i saw but they are just for me so I think it's ok.

so a few years back my aunt gave me this classic old suitcase and I attempted to decoupage. Now it turned out great but having gained a better sense of style my initial decoupage needed to be redone. I had found an japanese book at my local value village so i thought what a great way to make this suitcase useable again but to re-decoupage it. I keep the leather trim and interior untouched but repainted the rusted metal with a metallic white paint. Oh and just incase you were wondering, I'm pretty sure the japanese book is about hair styling, but my inability to read japanese leaves me a bit in the dark.

Just some random charms i came up with. There are bullet bill and yoshi egg earrings to feed my mario obsession. There are spock and bubble tea charms for my wonderfully nerdy boyfriend. And tomato and carrot earrings and a toast charm for my friend in Halifax, which I'm going to send off to her in a goodies package i'm slowly putting together. I didn't have the right colors for the carrot and the toast  so they are ... how you so artistically interpreted.

Being eager to get started on my latest swap I made some pentapuses charms. The swap is the Avatar Swap but I don't have a partner yet so this was pretty neutral. While I was at it I made a bunch for my friends. I used a tutorial off of Deviant Art that made this a breeze.
