Wow! I love quilts, but I could never be patient enough to work on one for more than 1 hour or so at a time - it would likely take me a zillion years to finish it!
It really reminds me of a quilt my mother-in-law is making; same idea with the blocks of 2" squares, only the squares are folded into a base fabric to create a really intricate textural pattern as well as color pattern.
I hope you post pics of the finished product!

Guess it depends on how you feel about leopard print... but I like it. I think the choice of green detailing is grand - if it was just leopard print w/black or something it would be kinda trashy... (not that there's anything wrong with that, just not usually my thing.)
However, the second one is pretty awesome and unique.
