1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: A couple of cross stitch cushions on: May 20, 2009 08:38:14 AM
Oh, I really like the cross stitch as a pillow.  I have some I've made and never hung for that exact purpose that I don't want it taking over.  Great idea and great projects.  I love the colors on the dragon.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A Dresser Gets a Third Life (With a ton of pics to prove it!) on: May 14, 2009 10:44:29 PM
A teaser:

The dresser's first life was all white and belonged in my room when I was, oh, about 12.  No pic of that, but you can imagine.

The second life came when I moved out and my roommate and I gave it a much needed paint job.  Only, we were pretty broke and so just used leftover house paint from my parents garage.  We never loved it, but at least it looked better.

Life 2.5 came abt 6/7 years after that when I needed a dresser for my daughter and found out that Mom had this one in a closet.  I took it and stuck seashell stickers all over it in an attempt to match my daughters beachy room.

But, the pink/blue/yellow/white still wasn't working for me, so after eventually it became this:

I'm pretty proud of it.  It is not an original drawing my any sense of the imagination.  I found a free printable online coloring page and made a grid on it and on the dresser and drew it out.  Then, months (and I mean months) later I painted it.  Now, it is finally done.  It is my first real project like this...and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out (when my perfectionist side doesn't get in the way that is  Roll Eyes)  Here are some details, the design wraps all the way around:

Much better than the original, wouldn't you say!  And perfect for a beach themed room.  Grin C&C most welcome!!!!

Very cool!  The red one is my favorite...definitely.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Kitty Dress for my little tiger on: May 08, 2009 10:02:19 AM
I could have written the same about my daughter, I think she would have picked out that material too...same age.  Anyway, cute dress!  I love peasant dresses with my active little girl.  So easy to  get on and off when she's wiggling all over.

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: drawstring backpacks and matching zipper pouches on: April 28, 2009 08:03:44 PM
Cute!  Those will be perfect!  One cute thing that my daughter loved at 18 months and continues to love are stacking plastic cups.  Not necessarily anything you can craft though.  Oh, and my daughter really gets a kick out of her crayon apron too, those would be functional for a trip.
