1  Re: Make Me A Reusable Shopping Bag Swap Round 2 - The Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by jukebox on: March 20, 2009 06:18:26 PM
I'd so love to get my hands on some of the printed fabric from the bag JessBee21 received from paintindiva! and man, this is making me wish I could crochet.

in any case, I received from my partner Hoxierice today and I lovelovelove my bag! It is SO well-made, and the fabrics are fantastic.

(please ignore the ugly storage unit on my balcony, I wanted to get a shot of the fabric in natural light)

I love this, it's so bright and cheerful and the fabric for its bottom and that its edged in, (blurry! sorry!):

The bag's lined in canvas and I already used it today - it is STURDY! And the pocket on the outside is great. I love it. Thanks SO much, Hoxierice!

2  caged bird singing in Needlework: Completed Projects by jukebox on: January 31, 2009 02:23:39 PM
my first embroidery since I was about ten, but I'm so glad I picked it up again. this is one of the lovely designs showcased over at http://www.urbanthreads.com/, though it turned out a little wonky as the transfer from my pattern paper rubbed off and I had to sketch the details back in with a pencil. I think this might become an insert on a tote bag, but we'll see. photo quality, sorry.

3  your standard first project in Stenciling: Completed Projects by jukebox on: January 31, 2009 01:25:46 PM
Not much to say here, I wouldn't even post it as it's pretty run-of-the-mill (and Zeenobia posted her go at this exact stencil a few days ago) except it was my first go at stenciling and I'm pleased with my super-clean lines.

Stencil's from stencilry, method was cardstock and spray adhesive with fabric paint and a roller, no ironing required. On to more interesting stencils next!
