1  My new pillow case! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by luvsquilts on: January 21, 2008 07:40:20 PM
Well my beloved flannel pillow case finally got replaced.  It was totally worn out.  I always wanted to try and make a pillow case.  So I finally did.  I knew it wasn't anything that could be too hard even for someone like me.

I didn't want just a regular pillow case so I found this free pattern at Joann.com.  The fabric is from Hobby Lobby.  I don't know if you can tell or not but the end fabric is little jesus fish (is that what they're called?).

Anyway...  I'm excited!  Now I just have to make the other one to match.

Ok...  I wanted to practice before I actually made one for my daughter using your tut.  I grabbed some fabric out of my scrap bin and to my surprise it turned out great!  I mean your tut. and directions are great!  I was just surprised that I actually did it.   Grin

I will post a pic of my daughters when I get hers done.  Thanks again!

Here is my first one!

I'm excited about this because I made this from a Goodwill find.  I bought 4 large cloth napkins for .99 and this was made from one of them.  Score!

I just love the pattern of the fabric.

Thank you for the tut!  My daughter wants one now and I'm going to try and use your tute to make hers.

Hello everyone,

This is my first block.  I'll probably start on my second one tomorrow.

Btw everyone has done a great job.  You all have made some very pretty blocks!

Well here is my one burp cloth.  Sorry it was only one.  Life got crazy.  My daughter was released from the hospital on Sunday.  She is doing better.  Thank you for the kind words.

I made this with a hand towel.  It fits on the shoulder pretty well.

I bought the fabric for my baby quilt today.  I'm ready to get started!  I'm pretty sure I can get it all pieced this month.  I will just have to send it off to my MIL to quilt it for me.  I will post a pic when I have finished piecing it.

Now for me......  Woo hoo!  I'm so excited.  I did it right this time!  The photos below show the bag I finished last night for my daughter.  She loves it!  I'm pretty proud.

Thanks again Jordy!

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting a pic.  I know this Jordy thread has been here forever but I finally got up enough nerve to make my first bag.

I love it!  The only thing is my lining is in backwards.  Don't ask me how!  Shocked  I now have a pocket hidden underneath the lining.  LOL  Duh!!  I thought I followed the directions perfectly.  Leave it to me to mess up something that's supposed to be easy!  I'm more of a hands on person.  Anyway....  I'm just glad it actually looks like a purse!   Grin

The fabric came from a skirt I bought at the Salvation Army for $1.99!  I already had the lining fabric.  With everything, I think it came out to less than $5.00 to make.  The flower on the front is an iron-on with beads that were already sewn to it.  I thought it gave it a nice little touch.

I will keep on practicing and hopefully I will be able to post again with a bag with the lining in right!

Thank you Jordy and everyone else for the inspiration.  Everyone has done such a great job!
